I am only allocated 1 Rolex professional per year by my AD. No way I'm skipping this.

If there was ever a watch I could see you buying it’d be the 36 mm explorer

For me, this is easy. I only wanted one Rolex to start, ended up with two, but trying to sell the vintage one. I'm happy with the one Rolex that I wear everyday and my TAG dive ss watch. Now handbags, that's another story.

If you understand the Sociology behind Social Class, and the Economics behind Capitalism and Demand and Supply, you will understand why this can never happen (in North America at least).

OP, sounds like a movement.

You should start first :)

You do realize modern society within the 'developed world' has programmed humans to be consumption-based. Not really a good thing imho, but that is the mass-belief system scheme in place today. Which brings up the obvious question, why is modern society consumption-based?

You should have gotten the 39mm version and you probably would still have it.

Not a chance. One of my least-favourite Rolexes of all time. They look so out of proportion.

Rolex have done a good job at stopping me buying for the last 12 months! I’m all for everyone else stopping buying for the next 12 and maybe I’ll get one.

Remember when scientists said that universal masking could get COVID to go away in about six weeks (you know, back in summer of 2020...)? If we couldn't even collectively do that, what chance do you think we have here?

I have and will never own a modern version. All the new versions of simply homages to the 4/5 digits that built the brand and put Rolex on the map. No thanks to the bloated and blingy show ponies made for a look at me and what I can post online world.

Yep, they are. But my 16610 is about 25 years old, serviced once. I wear it doing things that most here are screaming for their shocks (mountain biking, soccer, hiking, working with power tools, and its about +3 per day. So its built like a tank as well-but just doesn't look the part. Lots of 4 digits have been to actual combat and still doing just fine.

My goal is not to buy a watch in 2022, 7 weeks to go and then my goal will be achieved.

Problem is there is nothing I like at the moment so I don't foresee buying a watch in 2023 either unless something drastic changes.
