Friend that has a few Rolexes made introduction via email to the boutique manager he works with. I just made an appointment said I want a sub date, will be my one really nice watch and I'll wear it everyday. No stories about grandma's last dying wish for my promotion to assistant manager at McDonald's milestone. He said OK no problem, be a couple weeks. He called, I showed up and paid, in and out in 20 min. It was straight forward, no games, no trying to be buddy buddy, etc. Just mutual beneficial respectful transaction.

I think the market is softening and while my sub is very special, it's not trying to get a daytona or GMT, etc.
