126610LV & 126710BLNR + Jubilee for 126619LB?

Considering this trade with my AD. Need to find out how much $ to be added so that is a factor. I have been waiting for the Daytona making a tremendous trio. I just don’t think that will happen anytime soon. Also considering adding a speedy.

I love the 126619LB, to me it is the grail watch. I like blue better than green, though I love the SubLV. I get the blue on the BLNR, but just a bit. I am a little concerned with the SubLB being the only watch, especially with PCLs and PM. I could always add the 124060 at some point I guess. Really not sure what to do!

Would you do the trade or keep what I have?

Don't do it.

I've traded multiple Rolex SS pieces towards either another SS or PM and it only ends in regrets. I ended up buying back most of the pieces I've traded and it cost me a lot of $$$ in the end.

I know the allure of PM is enticing but I don't think you'd be satisfied with the WG Sub as your only watch. I bet if you give it a month or two your urge for PM will subside. I'd recommend holding on to what you have and make a plan to add the WG in the future

Tough call.

FWIW, I added a 619LB several months ago and I think I’ve worn my BLNR twice since then.

No I way. I would much rather have the 1-2 punch of an LV and BLNR than just the 126619

Go for it. You can try and source another steel piece down the road. The lb is amazing.

Do you like the weight of the LB? I think you've got a winning combo with the BLNR and the LV and they are a lot more versatile, especially if you added a speedy.

Probably the advice that stuck with me the most. I appreciate your insights. It is an urge, but the LB is shockingly amazing especially in person.

Love weight, tried it on last week, but I do think I would miss the combo

Dude your watch ADD is worse than mine. I would not do this trade.

I know it's not the same, but your BLNR has a similar aesthetic with the black and blue. Then you have the variety of the LV on top of that.

I think you'll miss that 1-2 punch and you'd also have to put $$ on top, which is your potential Daytona money. That's basically a 3 for 1, which I don't think makes sense in this case.

LOL I have severe watch ADD, I am the same with cars! I know I should wait for the Daytona, but man that LB is amazing. The white gold glows and that blue is special. Leaning towards staying as is, but also need to see what the actual deal is.

I would, but I'm more of a diver fan than GMT fan.

Word of caution - once you go precious metal it's tough going back. Since getting my WG sub I've added a RG YM and a DD40...

Rolex is about SS sports watches. Trading two of the hottest, and best-executed, for essentially the same watch with $3-4k of PM materials is not an "upgrade". Maybe if you collect through the lens of RRP $$ only, but in practice, you're trading two watches for one with little upside. I would potentially think differently if it were a bonafide high-end watch, like a PP or AP, but this is not that.

Interesting. Can you please expand regarding the $3-4k of PM? Are you saying that if one would melt down the white gold, the amount is only around 3-4K in worth? I would be lying to say the PM doesn’t have an impact on my decision, but never really thought about it the way you stated it. Per the other watches, I love the look of the PP Nautilus, something to at least think about, but I don’t have the same relationship with a potential PP AD.

You’ll get a variety of answers as to whether the metal is worth the premium.

One way to look at it is by using the avg spot price of gold per OZ which is in the $1800 range. Multiply that by the weight (approx.8 oz) minus whatever the movement weighs , and you get about $14000 worth of the metal.

The other way to look at it is the exclusivity factor.

Either way, the buyer has to decide whether the PM is worth it to him/her.

I tend to agree with the post above. I’d put my money into a higher horological piece and keep my SS Rolex. YMMV
