Buying a used AP without import papers

Hi,

I live in Canada and am considering a secondary market purchase of 2020 AP RO (15500st) of a watch that's also currently in Canada but was purchased in the US.

Watch imports to Canada are subject to 18% duties/taxes.

The seller (dealer) stated that he/she has no documents/receipts proving that the watch was imported properly (with duties paid).

Aside from any other factor, would you consider this a problem with respect to future resale/trade value, etc.?
