Did Blancpain revive the Bathyscaphe 1153?!?!

I was looking at the Blancpain site and saw that not only is the Bathyscaphe 1153 (38mm no-date Hodinkee edition) still on there, it's now pictured with a different strap than before. Previously, it had been some kind of cloth or composite strap, but it's now a brown leather one. Does that mean it's gone back into production? Or just some quirk from the website maintenance department?

If they did I don't think they'd keep it in the LE section. Weird though, interesting find!

True. I was more curious if production technically never ended. Someone previously said they are notorious for leaving out of production pieces on the website. And I’d have believed that had the image not been updated.

Also would be odd to not see it offered on Hodinkee store, too, since that’s where it started, but who knows…

Either way, that’s probably the most awesome looking diver on the market, and best proportioned.

That link also has the Barakuda available for 14,100.... Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't they been out of production for a few years now?

Your mention of price made me go and double check something... On the original release (about 3yrs ago), Hodinkee announced the price as $9,900, but now it's listed $11,900.

Yeah it was 10k I bought it and released immediately because I couldn’t get a nice grip on the bezel which I found incredibly annoying…other than that it was just about perfect. I should have kept maybe.
