Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Chronometer 263-66

Happy New Year Guys! I am thinking of branching out from my typical Rolex watches, and venturing off into some other brands. I recently picked up 2 nice Panerai's (510 and 287) and now am thinking of a third brand to add to my rotation.....

What are your thoughts on Ulysse Nardin, specifically a Maxi Marine 263-66?
I'm looking at this one in particular. Anyone here own a Maxi Marine? Would love to hear your thoughts.
A good friend of mine has one, and I just fell in love with it!!!

Thanks in Advance,
Steve

Beautiful watch! UN market prices are pretty crazy for what you are getting. Definitely a hidden gem

I am looking at this one currently

I really like them even though I’ve never actually pulled the trigger.
A step up from Rolex in my opinion, UN are close to mixing with the real high horology greats while Rolex are a mass produced high street brand on a level par with Omega.
Rolex are master marketers, I know this a Rolex forum so my opinions may well no go down that well on here!

UN make some amazing pieces, from their beautiful Marine Chronometers right up to automaton minute repeaters.

One of my favourite pieces is my Marine Chronometer from 1996, simplistic beauty and the forerunner of the piece you are looking at.

The UN's just seem like such a great value for what you get, retail price compared to grey market. Looks to be 60% off...

Personally I think huge discounts are the death of a brand and UN now they are independent needs to be realistic with their MSRP and to make large discounts a thing of the past. Their value is in the horology and quality.

I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on this one. It comes with a SS bracelet, and rubber strap. Lot of value, and i love the complications this watch has for the price.
