GMT accuracy!!!

I have been wearing the GMT I got for my birthday wednesday...and I am AMAZED at its accuracy. Looks to me like NO deviations whatsoever!!!!!!!! I am thrilled... Honestly...it has beat out ALL of my newer watches. anyone else with the same experience of an older watch stepping up against their newer watches (by this I mean date of manufacture)

My 1986 DJ (avatar) is as good if not better than my 6 month old GMTIIc....I do not make a point of checking every day (or even more regularly!) like some folk, however when I get a new watch I must admit I check it for a few days out of interest to get to know the watch.....my DJ is the benchmark....

This cannot be true a older movement without a parachrome hairspring keeping as good or better time.
PS only joking accuracy mainly comes from how a watch is regulated no matter whats inside the case.

That is great. Since my regulation by the watch guy in Annapolis, I am seeing about 0 to 0.5 seconds per day.

That's about the same as a typical quartz.

I can't wait for the next guy to tell me his Timex/Casio/Pulsar keeps better time.

well I just got my father's 53 Oysterdate out of mothballs about 2 weeks ago aftter having the case tube replaced and I assume regulated. In a week it lost approximately 9 secs. Not bad for a 56 year old watch.

I'm wearing this one this week........

..... It's 10 years old and keeps time at +1.5 seconds per day.

I started to wear a new Sub date two weeks ago, and since then it's +1sec... yes, it's +1sec/2weeks. Maybe I was just lucky. Anyone as accurate as mine?

Hi Valentine,

IMO that's too short a time to evaluate accuracy.

Even Rolex check them over 15 days.

Seems like a good start though.
