Changing Dial
Would a RSC change the dial of a DJ41?
Let say I go to a RSC with a white dial DJ41, will they sell me a mint-green dial? |

Probably varies from country to country but the persistent rumor is that Rolex will not allow a dial change within the five year warranty period. After that they will if the dial you want was available on that reference, although some “hot” dials are excluded.

Good to know. Does this apply to bezel and bracelet as well since DJ41 comes with fluted/smooth and oyster/Jubilee?
BTW. Approximately how much does a DJ41 dial cost (parts + labor)? |

This is correct. There is technically a way around it, which would be to bring the watch to RSC without the AD stamped warranty card (would not have the 5 year warranty, say bought it without it). They would probably enforce a service on it (about $750) but you could then ask for the different dial, which should be offer as long as was available on the model of your watch. Most dials are about $500 from RSC; please not they would not return you the original dial. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Wouldn’t they run the serial and see it was recently purchased and hadn’t passed the five year mark? Putting warranty coverage aside, I imagine part of the 5 year rule is to avoid a rush of new buyers running to RSC for dial “upgrades.” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’m sure there are some special cases too. For example my now discontinued coral red OP41. They must have some spares around just in case one goes bad or is damaged somehow, but I bet they won’t let folks with other colors switch to that even in five years. |

Hopefully my local RSC (Toronto) would do this.
I am on the fence between white or mint-green dial of a DJ41. Good to know that I may be able to change it “officially” later on. |

I asked the RSC in Toronto to change the dial on my Tudor. They told me once it is out of warranty they would be happy to make the change. I was quoted $250 CAD for a Tudor dial for your reference.

I myself have been waiting for a DJ41, fluted, jubilee, white or mint-green for a few months.
My AD did offer me twice but in different configurations and I declined. With this info, if the RSC can change it for me, maybe I should have taken it. |

Call and ask. I'm sure if you could do it without restrictions, people would buy any OP and swap in the turquoise...ah, excuse me....TIFFANY DIAL and flip it as soon as they got it back.

You never know whether they will remove this program in the next five years. Be careful with purchasing with the intent of switching dials.

Yes, I will call next week.
I do not know this Tiffany dial. Is this a sought-after dial? I do not see this option in Rolex website. |

No. Must have originally been offered in desired configuration.

** Update **
Called my local RSC (Toronto). It is correct that they will change the dial after the warranty period. Cost is $500CAD and an additional $160 if I want to change the hands. Labour charge is $250. I asked why the policy to wait for the warranty to expire, they told me that this is because I am opening the watch prematurely. They also told me that the desired dial may not be in stock at the time. |
