Would you trade Speedmaster for OP41?
I have been offered a blue dial OP41 after waiting for about a year. Unfortunately funds are a bit tighter now than when I asked about the piece and I would have to sell my Speedmaster to fund the OP41.
Would you let the Speedy go to get the DJ41? Eventually, I would likely pick up another Speedmaster as they are easy to get, I just feel like I might regret not getting to OP41 when I have the chance. My current collection: Submariner (114060) Datejust 41 (grey stick dial, smooth bezel on jubilee bracelet) Speedmaster Professional (hesalite, on black leather strap) I appreciate your input. |

I would pick up the OP41 providing you will enjoy the watch.Selling the speedmaster to fund is not a bad idea and in the future you can pick up another Speedy. Good luck !

Not a chance.
The OP does nothing for me and you already have a Submariner

I have both the speedy and blue op41 and they are very different watches
They compliment each other fantastically well. I would find a way to keep the speedy and add the op41 if you can |

If you really want the OP41, then it's a no-brainer, as (as you said) you can pick up another Speedie whenever there's a "Y" in the day!

No way. Two very different pieces. The Speemaster is a beautiful and sophisticated Chronograph and on the other hand, the OP is fairly basic, if not entry level chronometer.

With your collection I personally wouldn’t. The Speedmaster is an icon and goes so beautifully with your Submariner. Besides, you already have a DJ …
Anyway, it’s your call obviously, but that’s a NO from me |

I've had a Speedy and an OP (36)
Both great, but I now only have the Speedy I wouldn't as Speedmaster don't hold their value so we'll. You'll lose out selling then buying another (assuming you bought new an will buybnew).

Yes, get the OP now since you have been waiting so long. When you have the funds and still want it buy a speedmaster again with discount or used for 1000s off.

If you like it, go ahead and put it on credit. Not like you can't decide later which one to sell. You're going to come out ahead buying steel Rolex.

I would do it. You can always get another speedy down the road.

This is an easy one.....
Sell the Speedy, buy the OP41. Buy a Speedy later when possible. |

I don't think you can go wrong either way, but I like the Speedy as part of your current collection, since you have other Rolex. But it's easier to replace for sure.

I would keep the Speedy and wait until you can afford the OP without stress OR sell the Datejust to fund it. I think its function is more similar than the chrono. I don’t need a date and wear my OP often but I also wear my Speedy.

I’m an unapologetic Rolex fanboy and I would not consider that trade. The Soeedy is way more interesting and much more watch.

Yeah do it.
The blue OP41 is a beautiful sunburst dial. I am not a fan of Speedsters admittedly though. Then you'll have the quintessential trio of Rolex: OP, DJ, Sub |

You have such a nice collection right now - Sub, DJ41, Speedy. I would not make this trade.

Yep, I'd do it. Get a Moonswatch or Bulova Lunar Pilot to tide you over until you pick up a Speedy again. Easy call for me.

The OP is WAY more difficult to find than a Speedmaster, particularly at MSRP. If you decide later you miss the Speedy you will have not problem at all finding another at a great price. Go for it.

I would do it just due to the fact that you can get a hot piece at RRP. You will be able to find another Speedmaster and most likely get a discount quite easily. You're obviously a more than one watch guy so you will most likely want to have a Speedy again. The only way I wouldn't do the trade or sell it is if you received the Speedy as a gift or it was a milestone purchase.

I’d just pass on the OP personally. Speedie is way more interesting.

I guess, as long as you promise to pick up another Speedy as soon as you can.
But I'm being kind of serious. I like the OP's too, but with a Sub and a DJ in your collection moving the Speedy for the OP should only be a short term move. Otherwise no way would I do this. |

I’d do that because another Speedmaster will be easy to get later on.

If you bought the Speedy at retail, you’ll be taking a massive hit on that. How much would you get for it? Possibly £3k?
I would keep the Speedy and beg, steal or borrow to afford the OP. Although it is crazy that OP’s were all over the display cases four years ago. Now watch nuts are looking to sell pieces to acquire one. Whatever you decide to do, it’ll be exciting! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Just picked up my OP41 in blue a few weeks ago. I also have a speedmaster moonwatch. But the OP41 will get a lot more wrist time. Love the blue dial.
