Grail, acquired.
I have always been more of a sports Rolex guy, Datejusts never really appealed to me. Especially the bigger 41mm. Ever since the Sky-Dweller came out I have been intrigued by the movement and bezel function and as I grew older, I guess my taste has changed as well. I still love sports watches, divers, explorers, etc.. but I do find the dressier watches also beautiful. I’ve been very hesitant but after a very busy and difficult year at work and to celebrate a recent achievement, I finally pulled the trigger on this beauty. I was hoping to get it on Oyster but this was my only option. And now that I have had it for a couple of days and since my other Rolex is a Submariner, I think jubilee is the better choice for me. It is a BIG watch but I am loving it.

Beautiful! Did you get it from an AD or grey?

Thank you all!
Grey unfortunately. AD is impossible where I am at and considering my history. Had to pay a premium, which I usually refuse to do. Brand new, dated February 4th. It’s a shame the AD sold to whoever flipped it and wouldn’t even put me on a list. |

Congrats on your grail!! And yes a bummer when we see watches being resold within a month but wait for year(s) for an AD to offer one to a truly interested customer. Been experiencing the same with the BLNR. Every week there’s new examples in the for sale section but I’ve been waiting over a year (with $20k+ jewelry spend at this AD). By the end of ‘23 I’ll have it one way or the other lol.

That's lovely, enjoy!
PS: I personally think that the Datejust is one of the best looking references in the entire product catalog. Objectively more beautiful and timeless than sub or gmt. Sorry to break the echo chamber in here.

Thank you all. Loving the watch so far!
I kind of have to sell one of my other watches soon and the plan was to let go of the BLNR, blue, jubilee, dual time. But I really quite like them both in the same collection and might just keep it and figure out something else. |
