Explorer 124270 (new 36mm) “defect”?

I’ve seen some reviews/pics/video showing a “defect” - or maybe “phenomenon” is a better word - with the new Explorer where from certain angles the center of the dial produces waves/a shadow over where the hands join. Has anybody who has this model Explorer experienced this? Does it exist with every Explorer? Or, is it an anomaly with just some watches? Or, does it occur but is just exaggerated by some owners?

If you’re talking about the circles/waves on the dial around the centre pinion, that’s normal.

I heard about this after I bought my 124273. It was referred to as a 'dimple' located at the base of the handstack, and yes, I have it. I believe all 1242xx have it.

A fellow member suggested it was the new gloss black dial that enhances this dimple. It doesn't bother me and is only noticeable when the lighting and dial angle align AND you're looking for it.

My 124270 has this also and was confirmed as normal by the local RSC (corporate owned, not AD in house).

Never noticed on mine, not worried about a “defect.”
