Common problem First Rolex BLNR vs CHNR
Hello all,
i have read all the forum already, and this is the common topic, however I would like to have your opinion again. Last year I decided to buy a first Rolex and I immediately fell in love for BLNR on Oyster, hence I put my name in local AD. After several discussion with them, they mostly told me, that BLNR is almost impossible to get, and I have bigger chance to get CHNR. So I start checking CHNR and found out that they are also beautiful as well. I currently own Omega PO so though with CHNR it would be perfect combo. HOWEVER today I got a call from AD that I can have BLNR at MSRP and I went to try them both. Both are beautiful, side by side the CHNR I like more, so classy and beautiful, however when I tried them with my usual outfit in front of the mirror the CHNR were to shiny, compared to BLNR, which were more laid back and quiet from the distance. Now my dilemma is if to take BLNR and wear it, or to wait for CHNR, however I think I can still get CHNR later on, as they are not that problem to get. |

I’d rather have the BLNR over the CHNR anyday, not a gold guy. Which one do you like better?

I’d take the bat now. And request the rootbeer afterwards.

I've been there. I got the TT CHNR and was later offered the BLNR. I was never much of a fan but in the metal it looked really good. Black is black, but Rolex did a really good job with the blue on this watch. I really wanted the BLRO so I passed.
If I could have chosen either I would still have gone with the CHNR because it's so well judged and aesthetically clever. The BLNR looks rather prosaic by comparison. But it's all relative, you won't go wrong with either. If I wanted a BLNR and had been waiting for my turn, I would be posting an incoming. If you are starting to have a doubt, it's worth pausing but if it's just a bit of nervous excitement, the cure is waiting for you. |

They can coexist. Wife wears the CHNR, her fav Rolex color combo. I wear BLNR.

You're lucky to get offered a BLNR. Congrats, and post pictures when you get it!

You feel in love with the BLNR take it. I had the root beer while I was waiting, didn’t like the brown in the daylight as much as I did at night. The BLNR is a one watch option vs root beer in a larger collection for me. But I get why people like the root beer, heck I had it!

Go with the one you fell in love with. I just tried on the BLNR last week and became obsessed. I doubt I'll have the ability to get one, but my AD said it's possible in 2023.

Bird in hand beats 2 in the bush...
Besides that IMO BLNR is a better all-rounder, classy but sporty. CHNR is a bit more old school and I wouldn't recommend rose gold for everyone, it needs to also fit your skin color |

Get the BLNR now. Wear it and see how you feel when the CHNR comes in.
