Vintage Gold Date Just Sizing (No Pins)

Hi all, I inherited a vintage gold Date Just Rolex with a blue face from my uncle. It is beautiful! Problem is.. I’m a petite woman with a small wrist. There appears to be NO pins. After some research I’ve come to the conclusion that the links need to be cut to size it. I have a very reputable jeweler nearby that is a Rolex Authorized Dealer and servicer. I haven’t brought it there yet since my uncle just recently gave it to me. Had anyone seen a blue face like this? I haven’t been able to find one. But my question is.. has anyone had to cut their links to size a vintage Rolex? Will they repair the links that were cut and give them back to me? I am in the Metro Detroit area and would bring it to Lucido’s. Thanks in advance.. 😊

The links pull apart. A competent watchmaker with the right equipment can do this while you wait.

Often the links are deformed when they are pulled apart, so may not be reusable, however, you should be able to ask for them returned.

The bracelet can be sized to fit you by removing non-removable links. This is often a destructive process, so the links will probably not be reusable. The links that are removed should be returned to you (especially since they are gold).

Beautiful watch. That dial is a later replacement, but a lovely match against the gold.
