Who owns both datejusts 36 and 41
Did you keep both? Which would you favor?

I have at different times close to each other. The 41 was a mistake. I could happily own a DJ36, I just happened to have owned the wrong one and haven’t replaced it.

I never thought of getting the DJ36 until I was at an AD and tried it on. It was early 2021 where you could still buy DJs directly from the ADs at a small discount.
DJ36 is relatively small but works so well hidden under the sleeves of my shirts and sometimes it feels like an integrated bracelet watch. I have two DJ41 (chocolate TT and Wimbledon TT). Both are excellent dress watches at different occasion. |

My first Rolex was a DJ, later a gift to my son.
Acquired a DJ41 in 2021, it’s a beauty. I was happy with both.

dj36 was my first rolex. sold it and got a 41. regretted selling the 36, not because i don't like my dj41 but to me, the 36 was a more elegant watch proportionately especially for dressy occasions like when i have to wear a suit/tux. I also liked that it had a super jubilee bracelet which i really miss. I love my dj41 but i wish i would've kept both at the end of the day.

If the size of each works for you and there is nothing else you would like I would keep both.

I first purchased a DJ 41 two tone fluted bezel on oyster. Never entertained the thought of a 36 as all you read about is “too small for a man’s watch” and I have a 7.5 inch flat wrist. So even before the hype started and there were tons if 36s sitting in cases I wouldn’t even have them brought out to look. Fast forward to this past summer, and I was in my AD for some other jewelry purchase and they asked if I wanted to see what they just got in an hour before I got there. Of course I said yes. They showed me a DD 40 rose with chocolate face (omg amazing) but out of my budget. And a DJ 36 SS fluted blue dial motif, fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet. It was stunning and I said, “too bad it’s too small”. The SA said to just try it on to see what I think, I was shocked. It was gorgeous. My family was with me and the SA said go walk around the store. Look in the mirrors and see what you really think. I was smitten. It was shocked how good it looked. I bought it.
The 36 is my favorite watch. Gets the most wrist time. So comfortable. Truly classy looking. Dresses up or down. I kept the 41. On oyster with its size looks like a sports watch compared the the 36. I love it too. I keep both because they both have their place in my collection and rotation. So if you can afford and like both, get and keep both! The size and how they wear make them different enough that it’s not redundant. |

I kept 41 since it wore better (surprisingly) on my slim wrists

My wife has the 36 and I have the 41. Every time I try hers on, it feels too small. Go with your gut.

If they were the same, I'd say keep the 36 as it's more classic. If they are different I would go based on which dial / configuration you like the best.
