Which Rolex is this?

I have a friend who inherited this watch and I'm wondering what the value of it is naked? I can find a lot of watches that look similar to it on Chrono24, but the markers on this one looks smaller. Any idea what a good price would be?

Looks like a 1680/8 from the 70s
As for the markers, it's a so-called "nipple" dial.

Any idea what it's worth?

You'll have to do the research on the price. The model number is on the case where the bracelet is attached. Looks like a 16808 with a nipple dial. If it's authentic, its quite valuable.

Lots of comparable watches here:
https://www.chrono24.com/search/inde...ccessoryTypes=

If you're in LA, take the watch to the RSC in Beverly Hills and have them quote for a service - as part of the quote process, they'll do a quick authenticity check for you (don't mention that, just ask for the service quote)

If it's not authentic, will they confiscate it or give it back?

Depends on how not authentic is it - wife's vintage AirKing was returned with a 'won't service it' because the dial was repainted (unbeknownst to me). If it's stolen they'll obviously hang onto it.
