Once in a lifetime mint Rolex opportunity?
Hello there,
I was browsing online to try and find a vintage submariner and came across this listing on Loupethis: /auctions/rolex-submariner-16808-18k-yellow-gold-tropical-dial As per the condition report it says here: Watch is in near-mint overall condition. Watch appears to be preserved in almost unworn condition with light surface marks from handling only, but crisp factory edges that can be seen on the lugs and caseback edges. There is a warm patina that has developed over the entire watch. The original sticker is still affixed to the caseback. I also found a similar-looking watch a few months ago from a "reputable" dealer on Instagram - johnson167. As someone who is new to this hobby, I would greatly appreciate your help in determining whether this watch is in good condition, authentic and worth purchasing. Thank you in advance! |

Looks like s decent example. As far as the dial goes, you'll have to decide if that is for you. It is heavily faded and exhibits corrosion "pimples." It isn't for everyone's vintage taste but, if you like it, I like it.
As far as the watch being described as "mint" I would never call it mint - which it is not.
