Those appear to be ticking and might be sold to the right client or off to CPO -

My AD just got the black dial in for exhibition about a month ago. Odd timing with the discontinuation, and the SAs told me a couple weeks ago they weren’t sure what is going to happen to it, the 116503, or Milgauss exhibition pieces.

This is at an AD I love ... got my white dial Daytona 116500 from them, so nothing but terrific things to say about them.

Maybe it's Rolex Corporate telling all ADs to pull all the "11" inventory out of the safes and put them on display so they can be called "used" so Rolex corporate can collect them up and resell them here in the coming few months as CPO. Otherwise, why exhibit watches that are discontinued? I would hope the ADs could sell them off before the new ones arrive, but when I inquired about a 116515 on display at an East Coast AD I frequent through work, they said they can't sell exhibit watches; they have to go back to corporate.

Something might to turn fishy ...

I was in my AD recently and asked about the discontinued watches that were on display and she also said she thought they’d be going into the Rolex CPO program. I guess we will see.

I was told by Tourneau that even discontinued models will need to wait until they’re three years old to be eligible for CPO.

A watch has to be at least 3 years old to be accepted into the CPO program.

Yes - in a case inside the store. They were not on an exterior facing window. I posted a reply about it maybe 2 weeks ago in another thread.

Except only Rolex knows the age of some watches. Only they know age of any 116500. That’s the beauty of random serial numbers.

This was an exterior facing (to the mall) window.

I think CPO age goes by age of warranty card date.

Right, which is why I said the one I saw was internal.
Mind if I ask which state you’re in?

When it’s time to sell those exhibition models they would be new - not CPO - sales methinks.

I don’t believe an honest AD would try to “launder” them through a secondary market dealer for the profit gained selling at street value.

My AD said they had to pull down discontinued models they had as exhibition display after W&W 2023.

Except Rolex doesn't include original warranty card, just the cream colored CPO card.

I bought them both of course.

The SA said, “weird, no one else asked … “
