Real price for Rolex DD Presidential 41mm
Hello everyone,
I am looking into purchasing my first Rolex. I have always wanted DD Presidential 41mm in Rose Gold with rose gold dial. I was offered 2009 model in mint condition for $38500 is that a good price for this watch in the current market? What would be your recommendation is it better to get older 41mm or newer 40mm? Thank you, |

I know nothing about current pricing for the DD II but for nearly $40k you are not very far off from getting a brand new DD40 as long as it’s not a hyped dial. I would much rather pay a bit more and get a DD40.

I am not a fan of the proportion on the 41 mm I picked up a YG DD 40 mm today and love it.
$36,500 is MSRP on the standard dials with YG $41,500 is MSRP on a RG. Unless you like the 41 mm more Id say to pass on that and get a 40 mm. In my eyes the bezel on the 41 just looks off proportion wise, when I see a 41 mm on a I assume its a Michael Kors watch at first glance

If you have a bigger wrist, or if you like to wear bigger watches the DD2 is a great option Imo

It appears not harmonious in the forms. Sometimes just a mm is enough.
But if you like it, get it. |

I'd pass and set my sights on a DD40. Way more appealing to me all around.

Get the DD40 mate.
The DD2 is out of proportion and it looks strange. The DD40 has the perfect dimensions and updated movement. |

If you like the look and fit of it go for it….it’s priced about right.
Like some others have said, I’d also hold out for a DD40. The DD40 manages to maintain classic proportions despite being larger than the 36. The DDII, is kind of brute-ish looking but some like that about it. Just an FYI, it’s either the DD or the president. The “presidential” is the name of the bracelet. |

To me the DD2 does not compare to the DD40 or even compare well to the DD36 for that matter.
The watch just looks too big for the movement IMO. For around the same price the DD40 is the way to go.
