New Steel Code try on
Was in AP house London last week and got to try on the new steel Code chrono 26393ST, was definitely impressed by it. Feels much more sporty with the dial colour and strap combo.
Also put down wish for green 41mm RO chrono 26240ST next year for my 40th so fingers crossed Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Think this pic next to my black RO shows off the green better on the RO chrono

Will take ROC (Blue or Green) but both looks nice on you! Which one did you put yourself in the waiting list?

Super cool watches. I’ve always been a Code fan and these steel releases are awesome.

I wish everyone could have the chance to try on the Codes. I think the amount of haters would then diminish substantially.

Great to see steel Codes are trading above retail...saw few posted on chrono last week which are now gone.

Fully agree with this. Watches almost always look better in person, but substantially so in the case of the Code. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Anecdote: someone came up to me the other day at the airport and asked what watch I was wearing (15210ST green). In 40 years of wearing fine time pieces, this has never happened to me. And here I thought I was getting an "under the radar" haute horlogerie timepiece and relishing the idea no one would ever notice it...

For the Code in steel for chronograph or just date, you should be able to get those in weeks even without a buying record.
And agree with the other poster. The Code is beautiful when seen in person. There's nothing quite like it and it's very hard to capture the beauty of it in pictures. I got a green steel Code from the AD. They also offered in blue with the chronograph, but I liked the unbroken effect of the dial under the unique glass more for aesthetics. Here's my piss poor photo - believe me, it looks much better in person. |

Do you find the green better than the blue now that you have seen both?

25k seems like kind of a lot for a basic steel watch that wasn’t that popular to begin with.

I kinda tend to agree... I love the new look of the steel codes but at $25k before taxes(aka 27.5k after) for a non-bracelet three-hander with no change if straps it's a lot... I guess at this point there is no real "entry" AP whatsoever |

One further question: what's the general view of the ROO vs Code steel?
I know totally different watches in terms of look but for the "rounding error" (in AP terms) of $5k you basically get: 1. Functional water resistance rather than 30m 2. Ceramic bezel protecting the watch 3. Quick strap change system 4. A second strap thrown in 5. Same or more wrist presence |

Actually, I personally like the blue more. I did not like the chronograph obstructing the view and the blue steel code they offered me was a chronograph. The chronograph seemed to disrupt the visual effect from the glass. Also, I have too many blue dialed watches but none in green.

I personally prefer the Code. Case, crystal, lugs, new guilloche dials and the the watch is less bulky. I don't need functional water resistance and an extra strap is around 500 euro. |

I guess I don’t understand how a basic steel case with no complications is not a minimum of 100m water resistant for swimming. I wouldn’t trust anything that’s 30m in a pool or beach.
