My first poll.

And... an important one!

This is my dilema.

There are two things that I want to do, and they both take place on October 28th of this year.

I will be in Los Angeles for work starting October 22nd, and I will be there for three weeks. One of the largest air shows in US takes place the weekend of the 28th, at the Edwards Air Force Base.

The other thing is the Margarita Charity Ball, which takes place in Dallas this year, it is by invitation only, and it is the largest charity black tie event in the world.
It is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me.

My dilema is:

1. Do I go the the Air Show at Edwards Air Force Base on October 28th (in Los Angeles) by myself and look at airplanes?

2. Do I go to the Margarita Charity Ball in Dallas with my biker friend Amy?

Chip, there are many air shows and they happen every year.

As for the charity ball.. This is an amazing event for a great cause with a stunning guest in your friend Amy and as you say a once in a lifetime opportunity.

So I say you shall go to the ball.

well Avalon... my love for airplanes is pretty strong.... .. and I would already be in LA.
It would be a pain in the arse to fly to dallas on Friday, go to the thing till 2 AM on Sunday morning then fly out to LA in the afternoon...

But Amy is pretty... and cool.... and rides a sportbike...

Free booz too....

The DMS tradition continues as our guests will find our signature Margarita Fountains, featuring long-time corporate sponsor Sauza Tequila, flowing with sumptuous libation throughout the evening in the Main Ballroom. Escalators from the 2nd Floor foyer will carry guests to more of our Ball festivities. The 1st (ground) Floor is this year’s surprise grand addition and our new Sponsors will please our guests, as we highlight our dazzling full casino complete with blackjack, craps, roulette, a Texas Hold’em Poker contest featuring some of the top 10 poker players from the World Poker Tour, and big prizes for the winners. Also on the 1st Floor, Bacardi Mojitos and special entertainment in our Bacardi lounge will be featuring the rock and roll music of Maylee Thomas and the Maylee Thomas Band with special guest star “The Big Man” himself, direct from Bruce Springsteens E Street Band Mr. Clarence Clemons.

Whoah..whoah just a minute there..... I only picked up 3 things there.....
"Mojito", "Libations" and "E-Street Band".

That's another 3 good reasons to go, plus the big 1 we've already seen

That's a no-brainer Chip. You an always go back to LA for the air show. As you said, the black tie event is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Plus, you get to go on the company's dime. Plus Amy is hot

If it'll make you feel better, you can go to the air show and I will hang out with Amy.

You're kidding, right?

Let us know how the ball goes. Edwards will have the very same air show next year, if you play your cards right at the ball, Amy will probably go with you

Chip, from the poll results, I think you have the answer.

Now the question is: are you going to listen to the voters or be utterly stupid. You are not a stupid person, Chip. You gotta do what's right.

Do you want poor Amy sitting at home on a Saturday night all alone while you are spending a day watching planes whiz by you. Are you that selfish? I don't think so.

Ok I really don't see why this is a decision that requires a poll. Come on the choice is obvious.... 3) Stay in your hotel and look at your watch all day

But seriously though, option 2 is the way to go. Put your arm around the pretty girl at the ball and look at your watch

If you like planes that much, show Amy the link here regarding the Mile High Club and offer her a free membership!

How about option C...

Send the lovely Amy a return ticket to LA to join you at the airshow!

That way you get to see the girl you want AT the airshow and you can party all you want, and she goes home to TX short on sleep.

This is like that old question:

You are driving down the road in a car with one extra seat. You stop at the corner and see three people at the bust stop. They are: A man who saved your life years ago, an old lady who is about to die, and the woman of your dreams. Who do you give a ride to?

Think about it......

Think harder!...........

The answer is you give the keys to your car to the man who saved your life and have him take the old lady to the hospital to save her life, then you sit and wait for the bus with the woman of your dreams!

Whoops....
My answer was to pull up in the dirt, stick it in first and floor it, covering everyone in a liberal coating of roadside mud, shrieking maniacally all the while.

Guess I should re-evaluate my priorities?

Well Chip, it looks like you have your answer. 100% for option #2. I think the only way you could ensure any other poll would be as decisive is if you asked:

"Is JJ really crazy?"

By the way, no matter what option you finally choose, I hope you will let us see the pictures.
