Watch box recommendations
So I just picked up my first Rolex and I’m looking for a watch box. I’ve heard I should get a winding one as I won’t be wearing daily.
Any thoughts from those with experience on which winding watch box you would recommend? Ideally something with 2 or 3 spots as I do plan to collect more watches! |

I would recommend researching properly, few people I've spoken to that work for watch makers highly oppose using watch-winders as it can put too much stress on the working parts, ok can switch them on intermittently if you can be bothered, but I do recommend reaching out and researching fully first ..

Orbita would be my recommendation.
I’ve owned mine 20+ years, and it still runs like a Rolex !!! I have a beautiful Teak Wood / Glass Window / 3 Watch model, that I think is the Sienna model. I also have a 1 watch model. They have a good website with all models listed. Very durable, very good looking, very well made. Not cheap, but quality never is. PS … You’ll find a hundred posts on here arguing about the yes / no of watch winders. The consensus by the experts is that watch winders neither hurt, nor help your watch. For every argument for not using one (wearing out your watch), there is an argument for the watch not being wound is bad for your watch … like not starting / driving a car is bad for a car. My personal experience is that I’ve had my Submariner on a watch winder for 20 years … it’s never been serviced … and it runs like a clock, maybe like a watch … anyway, it runs great. |

Watch Winder for 6 Automatic Watches with LED Backlight, Remote Control and Storage Drawer for Watches and Jewelry https://a.co/d/2EzOEay
This is what I use, plenty of settings to turn on intermittent, lower the number of rotations ect. Sent from my SM-S908U1 using Tapatalk |

You heard wrong, you don't "need" or "have to" get a winder. If people truly "needed" a winder for their automatic watches every watch manufacturer would have their own bespoke version that only fit your particular model watch.

Wolf rolls and boxes are great and well-priced for the quality you get.

I bought a wolf triple winder on eBay which has storage for additional watches. I just went thru the same thing. I made offer on eBay and the seller accepted. Even if you don’t want to wind all the time it’s really nice for displaying them too

I have a Wolf Windsor box that I and a Wolf Cub two-watch winder. It runs silently and seems to work fine. My only concern is whether the spring loaded cushion will accelerate wear on my straps and bracelets.
I also have a roll from The Watch Stand that seems to be great quality. It was around $250. Box was around $120 and the winder was discounted down to $420. |

I would get a separate winder from a watch box...
For watch box, I would recommend Bosphorous Leather/Rapport London/Scatola del Tempo/Wolf 1834 Of all listed above, Rapport London/Scatola del Tempo/Wolf 1834 also make watch winders.... |

My advice is to not sweat it. Search “watch pod” on Amazon, they’ll set you back $15 and do the job just fine. They are also good if you want to use them as a travel case.

Unless you have a SkyDweller, a Rolex just takes a few seconds to set and wind. There is no reason to buy a winding type of box. Just get a small travel case good which is for all purposes. Rolex actually makes a green felt like pouch which is great. You can probably get one free from any AD.

Also recommend a Wolf. Have bought a couple on Jomashop or RueLaLa with solid discounts.

OP, since you are new I would recommend a Wolf Windsor fifteen slot watch box. You’re gonna need it.
As for a winder you’re not gonna need it but they are nice to have around when rotating back and forth between multiple watches. I recommend a simple Orbita Sparta winder, inexpensive and bulletproof in my experience. Welcome to the forum. |

If you only have one Rolex, the original box is the perfect box to keep it nice and protected.

Thanks! I like that idea. Question though since I had it resized, my watch no longer fits around the pillow it came with. Do they make smaller pillows I can buy that match the box?
