AP Offshore itch really needs to be scratched

My itch for a AP RO Offshore is getting worse day by day. I am very tempted to give up the watch I love for one. I have been lusting for a Offshore for a very long time, but when it came time to buy, the Roger Dubuis was $4000 cheaper, and both were equal favourites. Anyways, I still haven't been able to sleep comfortably since getting the RD, because I still think about the AP every night I sleep. I recently had a large windfall, and think it may be the time now.

I am a former AP owner, and I used to own a 15300 base model, but sold it off since I thought it was a bit boring, but nonetheless an exquisite timepiece.

The dilemma is should I give up the RD for the Offshore? I've already settled for one with Black or White Themes dial, on leather strap. (My favourites RB II and JPM are out of range)

Your two cents would really be appreicated.

I would make the trade for the AP.
It is calling to , I've been there.(but couldn't pull the trigger on getting rid of my SS Sub)
Not to pry, but with this "windfall" can you add the AP to your collection, see how much wrist time the RD ends up getting, then sell it off later if need be.
If not, you would have two smoking watches there

It's not feasible for me, as I am limited by my parents (after all, I'm just a uni student) to two "good watches", and I have to seek their approval before I buy something. The condition and agreement we have is, I have to unload this to get the Offshore, I've been given the green light to upgrade already though. Yes, I'm a goody two-shoes who won't break the rules.

I really belive that if something is calling you, then just do it!! Of course as long as finacially it is sound and you aren't hurting anyone else.

I can tell you want the AP, if it is in reach, I wish you the best of luck getting it. I love the AP OS, they have a great and unique, best of luck.

Only you know what makes you happy, and it sounds like you really want the AP. So go for it.

You already have the RD up for sale, so I thought you had already made up your mind.

Personally Royal Oaks do nothing for me, but I certainly know the feeling of not sleeping well because something is calling to you. I'll just say that I slept much better once that itch had been scratched.

Yes, it is up for sale, I put it up early just in case to see if there are any fishers. I've had 5 or so people who asked for pictures and disappeared, and 3 didn't reply back after they said "I'll take it". I was preparing for the hardships of selling watches online, since I can't wait for an Offshore.

Well, good luck with wahtever you decide. I know it's tough sometimes to make these moves, but it sounds like the RO is really what you want.

I know what you mean when you decide emotionally that you "have to have it". (By the way, isn't it funny how when you are selling so many people say they definitely want it but don't respond/follow up? I've always thought that was weird. They do this instead of saying "let me check my finances and I will get back to you if I can work it out.") The AP ROO is a beautiful watch, but I would think the RD Easy Diver would be even more exclusive. But it sounds like you have already had a good experience with AP, so my bet is that you won't be satisfied until you switch. Good luck, I hope it goes well for you.
