Sbge245

While hunting for the right 16710, I thought I could use some company.
I've always admired Spring Drive GS and thinking of pulling the trigger on a SBGE245. Does anyone with a 7-7,5" wrist care to share some thoughts on how these 44m cases wear?

Thanks in advance!

I've tried on a couple of the 44mm GS GMTs over the years, and to my eyes, they wear a little larger than I would like, and I have a 7.5" wrist. They are beautiful watches, no doubt, but I prefer the newer 41mm GMTs like the SBGE253/255/257 and the more recently released titanium SBGE285.

Thanks, Mike. That is my thinking as well, that it might wear a bit larger than what I'd consider ideal. But I like the rotating, lumed, sapphire bezel much more than the fixed ceramic ones of the new 41s. The bezel is actually one of the features I like the most about these older references. Add the finishing and details, the dial, the accuracy and functionality and it is, on paper, among the best GMTs out there.
The 285 is a gorgeous piece which I can actually try on at some point and perhaps consider acquiring down the road.
The 245 I'm considering is at the other side of the country and likely one of the very few, if not the only one in Greece... I've spoken with the seller and I can have it by Tuesday. I think it's worth a shot.

SBGE245 is a fantastic limited reference with its burgundy dial with Spring Drive.

Beware of the heavy watch a no clasp adjustment, which puts it far away from 16710 in terms of comfort.

On this topic, the GS GMT also exists in titanium with clasp adjustement.

And in steel, i really like the SBGJ237 that is as heavy as SBGE245 but with a clasp that let's you find the right placement.

Thanks for all the info, my friend. Well noted and appreciated. I am aware of the heft and lack of micro adjustments on the clasp but I'm confident I can get a proper fit with those half links. Again, this is not meant to be an alternative to the 16710 but rather seizing an opportunity to branch out to another brand I have a keen interest in.
