Need help authenticating rolex 6265 big red
Hi everyone, I have just recently begun to discover my interest in vintage Rolexes and just so happened to stumble across a really nice example of a Ref. 6265 Big Red at my local dealer. It is dated in the mid 1980's with serial number in the 8 million. Sadly, it comes with no paper. While I have been doing my own research on this specific model, it would be great to receive some expert opinions from passionate collectors in the forum.
Overall, I think that the dial is in great condition. Still has the Big Red notation so not a service dial. However, the lumes are in incredible condition. It is possible that the lumes on the dial and hands were replaced a while back. T Swiss T is correct for this reference and so are the pushers. The case seems to have been polished in preparation for sale. The bracelets are equipped with Ref.78350FF571 (correct). So far, I haven't asked to open the caseback to check the movement but I will do it once the preliminary checks are done. My question is, do you see anything that is out of the ordinary for the reference or maybe even fake components? All help is appreciated. |

No thanks on the zipped files.
Unzip and post using photo storage site.

Welcome to TRF. The members here are always glad to help but you need to make an effort to offer the actual photos instead of zip files.
Most are wary of unzipping unknown new member’s files. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

My apologies for sounding a bit rude on your first thread reply here on TRF.
I had just responded to another “is it real” post where the watch was an obvious fake, so I didn’t give your zipped files a fair chance. As stated, please post the photos instead of using zipped files. Welcome to TRF and look forward to seeing your 6265.

Nice-looking 6265. I don't see anything that screams fake. Definitely ask to see the movement and ask for a UV photo.
The lume looks original. Case has been detailed but still looks nice. Sub-dials have some minor discoloration, which is common on the black 6263/5s. What is the date/code stamp on the bracelet? What's the asking price, and who's the seller? |

Hi, thanks for unzipping and uploading the photo for me. I will take note to post photos properly in future threads.
I happened to stumble upon this shop called Good Watch on Nakano Broadway. They specialize in dealing with vintage Rolexes. The asking price was $62,000 which I found was very appropriate for the condition. I don't remember exactly the date code stamped on the bracelet but the shop clerk told me everything was period correct. Unfortunately, I was just a tad bit late on this deal and the watch has already been sold :( Will continue with my search for this gem of beauty. |

Yes $62k was keenish, hence why it got snaffled. Good luck with the hunt. Black dial silver bezel my fave too :^} Thanks for keeping us all in the loop.
