My Business's new Logo....Suggestions?
Some members in here know that I am starting my own business and some watches had to go because of this. I am starting out fresh, the business has started and there is a website up and going.
Right now I am in the process of designing my very own logo. Yes, you have to wear many hats when operating your own business. Everything is done from scratch except for my city's historical 4 buildings, which I am waiting for permission from the artist, a 70 year old retiree. Here is the logos that I have came up with so far tonight......don't be nice... ........be critical of the designs! Please vote and critique the ideas... Just count down from the top and choose......I messed up the poll. Count the choices as you would the logos. |

I want to be helpful but I'm unsure of which logo corresponds to which poll selection. As a suggestion, you might want to number the various logos to mitigate any confusion.

I like the 3rd down from the top, the one where the writing is to the right of the building. It's very nice and pleasant to the eye.

Number one gives you all four of the historical building and is good. But number three looks more balanced!!!

Third down from the top stands out to me. Simple design that takes up minimal space.
Good luck with the new business! AJF |

If the 4 buildings are ones your clients can associate with then #1 is best to me, #3 is good too. definately not the last 2

I like 1 & 2 (maybe #2 more if a line is put in as stated by Mr. Swede)
Also, I much prefer accounting & bookkeeping services vs. bookkeeping & accounting services. Good Luck!! |

I like 1 & 2. You may consider reducing the font size (or choosing a different font) for the "Accountable Solutions" though, to make it more compact (so it doesn't hang so far out each side of the buildings). This will balance the wording to the picture.
Also agree with the other poster re Accounting & Bookkeeping verses the way you have it. Third thing re 1 & 2...the first building in the line of 4 looks unbalanced, assuming it is supposed to be a church. In 3 & 4 you show it tall & skinny. In 1 & 2 you show it short & fat. Is it proportional to the real building in 1 & 2?

Use the typography from the first one and dump the buildings. Simplicity unless you're a professional designer.

I know what you mean by simplicity. I may just go with the generic Helvetica typography because we see it everyday. Here's one of the big 4 accounting firms....very simple. |

Do it in reverse with a thin border...the eye goes to light and that's where you want your message/name - in the light.
Make the background the blue and the text white.

I like 1 or 2 far better than the others. I also really like Leo's suggestion for 2.

Henry I like the third one...it's eye catching and has symmetry.
One thing...what do the buildings have to do with anything? In my opinion if I was looking through a brochure for an accountant and saw that, I'd think at first that you were an architectural practice! J |

I like the type face. The architecture except for the 'older' looking structure used on #3 is fairly non descript. There also seems to be some distortion on the sillouette images on some options. Some other comments:
Type across the image for me a big no no. Consider everything before selecting design-- address, tel.#, email etc., Watch it with any light blue because b/w photo copiers often can't see it. Be careful building image is not too religious-- one looks like a church. Good luck with it!

The last 2 was just thrown together. I scratched those ideas. The light blue was done because it matched the theme for the website. I am also trying to redo the website. Just found out some HTML codes and messing around with it. You think with all this designing and putting together my own website that I am in the wrong profession. |
