Collectors Huntington - review?
Not quite sure where to post this. I know there's a reference section for sellers from TRF, but what about external sources?
I tried to search for "collectors huntington" and it returns everything related to 'collectors" which is a lot! And I tried just searching "huntington" and a lot returns as well because of Huntington Beach in SoCal! I found a watch on Chrono24 and it's being sold by Collectors Huntington. Any thoughts on buying this way? I traded a couple of messages with them, and it's not exactly the best customer service. But that may just best an east coast thing. Also who would you recommend in the San Francisco bay area to have the watch looked over and authenticated? TIA |

OMG, I can’t believe you are asking for this review and I have actual 1st hand knowledge of dealing with Richard. You are correct he can be slow to respond to texts but let me tell you that I went to the store in person with my wife and he was great to deal with. The actual store isn’t that big but they are on the main st in Huntington NY.
I was looking at buying a Meteorite GMT, unfortunately I did not pull the trigger but that is NOT because of Richard. Based on my numerous texts and meeting face to face I would have zero problem giving my endorsement of dealing with them. Good luck

Had numerous positive deals with them. Always fair prices and straightforward.

I was looking to purchase a watch from them this week and got incredibly poor customer service. Requested more photos of a PM Rolex and they gave me the run around in a rude manner and said "the watch is the exact same as the photos you will receive it in that condition" furthermore they did not want to talk unless I wanted to complete the purchase today (I in fact did). When I reached out to a different person that worked there she informed me that the watch was "damaged" during an in-store "visit". Additionally many of their watches appear to be poorly refinished (polished areas where they should be brushed) which is just incredibly lazy. I do not understand why people like Collectors because I can only imagine the level of poor customer service you will receive after you purchase a watch. They seem to be reputable in this community but I would trust your instinct. What particular watch are you after?

i would avoid.....apparently they list watches on C24 as in 'unworn' condition when it's clearly not. Check out their C24 listings, it's clear as day. in the detailed description they will mention it's 'mint'.

Yeah, I was trying to figure out if it's a east coast thing or not. I know when I'm out there the people are generally more 'curt' and to the point, which I don't have a problem with. But the lack of answering questions or giving information is disappointing for a $10k+ item!
It's a Kermit. Been looking for a 5-digit kermit. Quote:
Oh man. Funny you say that because the watch I'm looking at states that it's new and unworn. When I ask further questions they don't answer them. Sad that the customer service is so poor. I've never bought from c24 before, but it sounds like the funds are in escrow so you have some recourse. But that's just a PIA to deal with as well. |

I would avoid them. They “accidentally” sent me a supposedly unworn daytona with a link missing.

I assume you sent it back to them. But still such a PIA to deal with. Did they argue with you?
Also, was it truly "unworn?" I wonder if they needed a link and and took it from yours hoping you wouldn't notice. Shady AF nonetheless. |
