A few conclusions Polar

Hey folks,

Just really excited about my new Polar and I am really surprised by a few things:

- It wears incredibly well on my 6.9 inch wrist

- It wears really flat, the case back is way less deep than my Submariner. I much prefer the Polar, it wears best out of all of my watches.

- The white dial has practically no reflections. It has been a while since I had a white dial but oh boy is that nice to have such a clear view I basically don't want to go back to my black dials.

All in all, it wears so great and is incredibly handsome IMO.

Congrats on a great pick up

The Ex2 wears incredibly well for its size for the reasons you mentioned…as long as your wrist is over 6.5’’ the Ex2 will wear surprisingly well due to how it hugs the wrist.

It’s stunning. Have been fobbed off for years now from AD though.

Jokers.

Enjoy yours.

Great observations.

I love white dials, but I've moved on from a few because I couldn't read the time instantly as the hands would blend.

The Exp II's white dial makes the time even easier to read, particularly the Mercedes hour hand!

I've already expressed interest for two other references at my AD, but it seems even the Polar is down to less than 2K premium compared to retail plus tax. I may be calling Patrick at OCwatchguy soon!

Thanks for sharing!

Agree with those observations. I can only guess a lot of people who say it’s too large haven’t actually tried it because it feels much smaller on the wrist than the numbers would suggest.

It’s ruined thicker watches for me!

Best Explorer variation in my opinion. Love how that white with orange pops.

Congratulations again

I’ve been railing on about how I want to trim my collection down … now you’ve got me thinking

Can anyone here comment on real world experience between the previous gen 216 and the new 226 in terms of how they wear? I know the specs (wider bracelet, clasp).

Thanks

I tried the 216570 in the past, I like the new one much more, the lugs are much slimmer and the matte finish on the hands suits the utilitarian vibes of this watch IMO

Thanks for your feedback Daniel

I honestly can't say I see huge difference in the lug profile. Yes its there but not as drastic looking as the Submariner IMHO.

The matte text is interesting, and I hadn't noticed that!

Congrats !

No stark difference with the former Polar though - on the wrist no one can tell apart. The look of it I think I'm skipping this new Polar.

The AR coating alone makes a huge difference in legibility imo. Love the new reference
