Dear Rolex.....(GMT content)

Dear Rolex,

I like your watches so I'm going to help you. Your Tudor GMT is a decroded piece of crap. Let's just acknowledge that the movement has been an overall failure and move on.

Sure, for MOST owners the Tudor GMT has been fine. But you are ROLEX, for goodness sake! MOST isn't good enough. Movement failures should be relatively rare and easily fixable by your master watchmakers in Switzerland. The Tudor GMT has failed way too many people...and multiple times.

You haven't figured out yet how to fix your own watch....after more than five years in service. This is a really bad look. I mean, most Rolex fans are too blinded by the glare off the meteorite dial of Carlos Alcaraz's Daytona after he won Wimbledon to notice this small but not insignificant wart on your otherwise glorious and mostly smooth history.

So, here is what we do. Its cost effective and will make you more money than if you had bought Nvidia stock at the beginning of the year. Ready? You make a watch case and bracelet similar in size to the Rolex GMT 16710. The Tudor GMT is really too big. Bloated watches are so pre-pandemic. The people want a true 39-40mm with tapered lugs and a slim case. Then..........are you ready for this? You go down into the Rolex basement and dust the cobwebs off the tooling to make the 3185/6 movement. No R&D. Just a reliable movement with years in the trenches.

See how easy that was? And the people are going to go gaga over this thing. GA-GA. Seriously. I am not the first person to have thought of this. I bet this idea even bounced around the halls in Geneva. Someone said this by the water cooler. Or next to the Swiss Miss machine.

The ghost of Herr Wilsdorf told me he liked this idea. So, there you go. Let's do this Rolex!

I wish people would stop telling other people what the people want. How can anyone read that many minds?

“The people want” = “I want, but I need to make it sound more serious.”

I’m pretty sure posting threads with “great ideas” is not the OP’s strong suit..

Isn’t the date change issue resolved with newer models, or am I making that up?

Plus i think the dimensions are thinner now, at least on the black bay pros. so problem solved.
