Trade Pepsi on Jubilee for SS Black Daytona?
Trade being offered is a Pepsi plus $4k for a Black Daytona. Would you do it?
Curious to hear from folks that have had both watches now or in the past, which one you enjoyed more. Cheers |

I would definitely do it. The Daytona is a much more special and unique watch!

No for me. If it was the daytona in white it will be a lot closer, but the price for that will be another few k more

I traded my Pepsi and a 126610LV for a white 116500LN. Within two months, I traded the bulk of my remaining collection to get the Pepsi back.
Now I have both, I wear the Daytona 60% of the time. If I truly just had to have one of the two, it would probably be the Daytona. If you got your Pepsi at retail, then that would essentially be like getting the Daytona at retail if you’re adding $4k. Doesn’t sound like a bad deal at all for you… unless you’re in the Pepsi for more than about $19k. |

Ceramic Daytona? If so, yes. Seems beyond fair. I prefer the Daytona for myself even though in many ways I think the Pepsi is slightly better looking.
Gray pricing on a Pepsi is $18k. So that means they're offering the Daytona at $22k. If a dealer I'd guess they're wanting to make $2k of profit on the Pepsi, so they'd be giving you $16k for the Pepsi and then offering the Daytona at $20k. Wow. |

A no from me because seeing the Pepsi as a kid made me immediately fall in love with it... plus my 'only add' initiative is in full effect.
Only add my friend, only add.

I’ve got them both the black ceramic Daytona & the Pepsi & no chance. The Pepsi is such a special & incredible watch. Only the Panda in the Daytona configuration tops it for me.

I prefer the Daytona as I don't like the need to set the date on the GMT by swirling the hour hand. IMHO it's too much work. I'd much prefer the 16700 setting method or something new if you really need three time zones.

Value wise it is a fair deal depending on what you purchased the BLRO for. Ownership and wear wise only you can answer that question. I wear my BLRO more that both of my SS Daytona's combined. Something about the colors and the jubilee bracelet that really does it for me.

I own the white Daytona and the BLRO with both bracelets and I would not do this trade for the white or black.

I own both and the Black Daytona is so much more of a daily watch. It is sleek and sexy. The Pepsi is a great watch too but for me more of a spring/summer watch. Good luck on your decision.

I guess the question really is, do you really like the black Daytona more or are you buying off on the Daytona hype (gotta have one)?

I must admit, the hype is a factor. There's just this nagging feeling that what I own is "second best" (i.e. the first being the Daytona)

No way I'm letting the BLRO go. The Daytona and would be good to add but not worth sacrificing the GMT.

I wouldn't. In spite of the Daytona hype, I find the date window and second time zone complication of the GMT much more useful to me than the Daytona's chronograph function with the subdials cluttering up the dial.

Trade Pepsi on Jubilee for SS Black Daytona?
I am contemplating a similar trade but more cash on top for a brand new SS Daytona Black Dial Ceramic. I have a SS Sky-dweller White Dial so I figured I have the GMT function covered + Annual Calendar. I love my Pepsi, but for some reason I always gravitate towards my Sky-dweller for the complication. I would love to just add the Daytona, but am trying to keep the collection consolidated. I’ll maybe add back the Pepsi down the road, but figured I already enjoyed it for the past few years, but never experienced the Daytona. Good luck!

Daytona size
Have you tried on the Daytona? Owning and loving a Sky-Dweller I think the Daytona will wear very small for you. Just my opinion and good luck with your decision, happy hunting.

If offered both at retail from an AD at the same time, I'd choose the BLRO evrytime. |

Yes, without hesitation. I like my Pepsi, but not really a daily wear piece. Black face Daytona could go nonstop for me.

I think the GMT has historically been a more consistently successful watch than the Daytona. |

For me it comes down to what other pieces you have and how you wear your watches. I wear my Pepsi more in the Spring/Summer...looks great with business casual attire, etc. Even though it looks just fine with a suit, I typically wear my DJ with a suit/more dressy attire. Your milage may vary but I really think it depends how/when you wear your watch(es).
Also as mentioned already the Daytona wears quite a bit smaller than the Pepsi, so that may play a factor for you. |
