Opinions on California dial

Got this 424 and not really sure how I feel about the dial.
Opinions?

A Cali dial should be in any Panerai collection.

When I think Cali dial, I always think 249 first. But the 424 with gold hands is nice as well.

I’m not sure it’s our opinions that matter!
I like it but 47mm just too large.

Love it. But I agree with rootbeer, on the 47mm. I wish we saw more of these 44mm

Yep, absolutely agree on the 47mm sizing. It's been spending its time pretty much exclusively in the case because of that.

I have a 210 & those 2mm seem to make a lot of difference. Might be worth investigating a swap/trade.

424 is a great looking watch and can be bought at super bargain prices, in the 4K area!

Here’s my 779 Cali Dial..

Looking at your 779 makes me think the 424 would be absolutely stunning if it was 44mm and had the crown guard, great piece.

No way should that not be worn. And don't fall for that "to big" BS. Those Radiomirs in 47mm don't feel like 47mm regular watches. That dial is awesome. Where it out to a nice dinner and enjoy the heck out if it!

Odd comment about the size. It may not ‘wear’ large, but it’s 47mm & in my opinion & possibly the OP’s it is too large. I chose 45mm instead and it’s a perfect fit.

I actually own a 45mm 183g. So I do agree with you on your criticism of my comment. But Panerai are large watches and I just meant give the watch a chance. I do like the dial a lot!

Love a California dial and also owned a 424 but as others have said - was just too big for my wrist.
