Opinions on Artem Straps

Welcome member experience and pics with Artem Straps. Looking to buy for my GMT Master II and Omega Aqua Terra Small seconds.

I have one and so does my brother. The quality seems very nice when new though they are a bit stiff. But, after some wear the material can start to split around the lug holes and they honestly just don’t wear that well from what I’ve seen. Maybe they’ve improved things, not sure, but I don’t know that I’d recommend them if longevity is a concern.

Too bad too, they look and feel great

Have two, good quality. Didn't require much break in, wearing it once or twice was enough. It's got a coated leather lining, comfortable and claims to be able to be worn in water though I haven't really put that to the test. Optional quick release spring bar and RM style deployment are both nice features that I went for but my second strap has their omega style deployment which I prefer.

I rotate between about 8 watches and a few strap options for each so I can't say I put heavy wear on them but seems to hold up fine.

I've been wearing them on multiple watches for at least a year on one of my Blancpain's and 1971 GMT Pepsi. I very much like them and the quality. And they are a LOT less expensive than the BP straps they are modeled after.

I guess they are a bit overrated!

I put one on my dad's BB58 Silver, and he wears it almost every day. For more than half a year already and it's still stiff. Still stiff but already tearing/cracking. I guess they just do a lot of good marketing since everyone is doing youtube video's about it etc.

Unsure if it's worth the money. (Custom payments and everything added here in Holland)

So mine is fine because I barely wore it, probably has less than 24 hours of actual wear...found it too stiff for my taste so just never warmed up to it.

My brother wore his quite a bit and it's the one I saw that split, not sure how much wear that took, good amount but nothing crazy. From the above comments definitely sounds like that wasn't a unique experience.

Still have mine and it looks brand new...just don't trust it to last long if/when I ever decide to actually wear it on something.

I will add the wear was around the holes in the strap so if you use a deployant on them they may be much better and longer wearing. I don't care for deployants myself usually, preferring a simple tang buckle

I’d never heard of the brand before this thread, OP which of their products are you considering? Honestly they don’t look that attractive to me.
For cheaper off the shelf straps I’ve had good luck with Panatime, Barton Bands, and Strapcode. For pricier full customs I’ve used and enjoyed Aaron BeSpoke and Gunny.

That’s disappointing, considering their cost.

I had an experience ordering where it took three tries of shipping Australia to U.S. for me to get one where the lining wasn't peeling off from new. I think this was heat-related in shipping during the summer, but it was frustrating. They did right by me and kept replacing them until the third time was the charm.

Overall, they are nice (when you receive them in good shape), but very stiff. I've worn one on my speedmaster for some time and the padded section near the lugs just doesn't conform well. As a result, it's not that comfortable to me.

Love my Artem strap for my SMP300m.

As others have stated it was a little stiff at first but within a few days it became nice and supple.

Again, thanks for all the useful inputs. I'll give one a try with the deployment clasp (Omega style). Hopefully, this will provide for a long life. Cheers!

Had one, it lasted three months at the most, not worn daily, until it, well, broke. 1/5 stars for looks only.

damn....this is a bummer. these are the only sailcloth straps i've found that check every box.

except, apparently, that durability one. real bummer.

I purchased one last year for my BB58. Wore it a few times, but found it to be stiff so I went back to the bracelet. Nice looking strap, just not comfortable.

I had one on my Seiko Turtle to try out before I bought one for my Speedy. I found it to be stiff and wasn’t impressed with the quality of the stitching.

Agree with most others about the bad quality. I got a couple for my Seiko divers. They lasted a couple months and like others mentioned above, started falling apart at the lug holes. A pity really.... it feels very refined/upmarket and looks really good on the divers.

Have an OEM strap now, the one that originally came with the DSOTM Speedmaster, and am super happy with it. No contest, really. Highly recommended.
