Preowned DJ need service...

I bought a beautiful preowned DJ 116139 earlier this year (I think this model was discontinued 15 years ago) and it is running a little fast.

Thinking of sending it in for service (warranty is lapsed). Is it possible to send it directly to Rolex, or do I have to go thru an AD?

I didn't buy the watch from an AD and didn't want any awkwardness.

Also, do ADs make money when they send your watch in for service?

Thanks for any advice.

There are many threads on TRF about using RSC Dallas to service a watch. Do a search.

Call RSC Dallas, 214-871-0500 for info - service cost, current service times and shipping instructions.

You can go thru an AD for service, but you will not be able to communicate directly with RSC. All communication will be between the AD and RSC.

Good luck.

I agree with Dave (Zook).

That’s how I’ve done it before. DIY direct communication with RSC. In my case NYC because of other reasons. Dallas is your closest to PNW

Back when I was buying and selling more, I used an independent watchmaker who had a parts account and was Rolex certified.

OP asked if AD’s make anything from facilitating the service to the RSA’s. If anyone knows I’d be interested in that too.

No and Rolex does not reimburse ADs, per a few ADs for shipping as they do for purchasers on warranty claims.
