Casio Military Concept G Shock
Good day everyone,
I remember someone getting a Military concept G-Shock a while back, and was seriously considering getting one myself. I'm in need of a rugged watch that I can take to the trail/track with my and time my runs. Would you recommend the Military Concept G-Shock anyone ??? I've never owned a G-Shock before, whenever I go to the gym/track,etc I always ether wear my Omega Seamaster, or go watch-less. I figured it's about time I buy a watch for working out / going in places where I would never take my SMP or PO. Any thoughts ?? I found that particular watch (model number DW6900MS-1CR) on Amazon for $99.00 with free shipping. Any comments would be great Link for those interested : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...pf_rd_i=507846 |

Mike I have a few watches that i really like, but I will tell you this the watch I took with me to actual war was a casio G shock. I wasn't even the expensive frogman it was the plain casio G shock and in my opinion there is non tuffer. Get a G shock that you like they are Great watches you wont regret it. Now they have atomic and solar features as well.

Yeah, I am in the same boat. Looking for one to workout with and take in the pool when i'm too lazy to clean my metal watches properly after. Any of them is a great choice and will take more than a beating over the years. For me i'm going for the G-Shock Riseman (Solar, Atomic, Twin Sensor). Great for outdoor activities or anything that would be insane to wear a more costly watch. They are not nearly as cheap though, but I think the fact it is Solar and Atomic is worth it. If I could order a spare strap and case cover somehow it would last many, many years and still look great.

Another vote for G-Shock, but - many people (myself included) find the reverse displays very difficult to read in low light conditions. May not be an issue for work outs, but I found it really aggravating on camping/backpacking trips.
Once you find one you like, you'll never regret owning a G-Shock!

I'm going to go out and see if I can find any G-Shock Military models at my local mall. If I can't locate any of them, I'll check out the G-Shock models, and see how I'll like them. Thanks for the comments so far everyone |

Yeah, I know what you mean. Mind you i've got no problem wearing my expensive watches swimming etc etc as they were made for but to me cleaning them after properly is a pain some days lol. Working out it is nice to have a digital Chronograph, timer, alarms, and those outdoor features if your playing sports, running or swimming etc etc. This partly is what makes me question the dive watches that cost around $10,000.00.... Not so much that I can not afford to use it hard (wear mine for almost anything as it is) but 1 fall, deep scratch etc etc and you could be in need of buying a new clasp, links, breaking your crystal etc etc. Not likely but sometimes it is better safe than sorry, indeed! Down in USA you have better selection. Hard to find decent G-Shock variety here really. Very few of the ones seen online I have actually spotted. That being said I will buy my Riseman off eBay to make matters easier. Either way though keep us posted on what you end up seeing or buying |

I have a g shock that I have had since about 1990 it always worked great and was very tough. I need to take it somewhere for a new battery but I am sure it will start right up again. I would recommend them no problem.

That is also the watch I was looking at as well. It's between that one, and the "square" looking one. The only problem with the reviews on Amazon seems to be that no-one can see the time, except by using the blue LED light. However, for me this probably will not be a problem, since I always use the light on sports watches anyway. Thanks for the thread reference |
