Airport Pickup-First Tudor Incoming

Hello everyone,
On my way to the gate at the airport I stopped by the Tudor stand and found a nice selection. I was always interested in the Tudor Pelagos FXD, found the Alinghi-Redbull available (the new FXD black was also available) and here it is! A divisive watch I reckon but a fun watch for travel, outdoor activities, holidays imho when you wanna give your Rolexes some time off. Cheers

Congrats Last I heard my local Tudor dealer said he hadn’t got one in yet, I want to see one. I was expecting the blue dial to be a bit bolder, does it look brighter in person?

This model seems to be more prevalent outside the US

That might be true.

I was in Kuala Lumpur, and it took me a bit of hunting to find an original blue MN version. All 3 of the Tudor stores I tried had both the new All Black and Red Bull versions available, but only one had the Blue.

BTW prices there were significantly lower than in the US. I paid RM17,200 or US$3,650, plus there was no sales tax.

Gva1985: Congrats on a great looking watch .

Thanks everyone!! It’s a really deep matte purplish blue unlike the bright blue of the MN. The red bull branding on the rehaut is visible on magnified pictures but it really disappears once in real life. The red detailing is a nice touch. A grab and go, super light, no fuss watch. Recommended

My Fiancée was at the Yorkdale Shopping Center in Toronto last month and she sent me a picture of one in the window at the boutique. Our local AD hasn’t had one yet to my knowledge

congrats.

need to see one of these in person.

can't help but think they looks a bit like a swatch.

in fact is the 'composite' case actually a type of plastic?

Some people don’t like the Alinghi Red Bull on the rehaut, I don’t really mind

It’s carbon fibre mixed with a polymer matrix, definitely not Swatch bio ceramic which is essentially a tiny bit of ceramic mixed with castor plant oil. The materials of the Alinghi Red Bull (steel for the caseback; titanium for crown and outer bezel; composite carbon for case and inner bezel) replicates the material of the Alinghi Red Bull racing boat which will compete in next year’s Americas Cup
