Seiko 7T52 Chrono: Back From The Dead

Hey guys,

I was rummaging through my stuff, looking for some tools and I found my old Seiko 7T52 1/100 Chrono, which, my dad gave to me almost 20 years ago! Seriously, it's like finding money between the couch cushions - only 100 times better.

It used to be my main watch after my Tag Heuers broke. Used it all through college till I got my Omega - which, got me started on the whole "Swiss Auto" thing.

One really cool thing about this is the top dial that gives a read out of 1/10 and 1/100 of a second. The 1/100 is a real trip because of how fast it goes.

It's quartz and it's been stored up for over a decade so obviously it was dead. Still, I took it to a watch store and had them replace the battery and here it is - back from the dead. Definitely glad to have this back in the collection. Trusty beater with a ton of history.

Anyway, I just wanted to share. Anyone else with revival stories?

PS

Sorry for the blurry pics. I'll take better ones later.

Thanks, man! Yeah, I was really stoked to find this thing especially after forgetting I even had it in the first place!

Great looking watch
And rediscovering it, makes it even better.
I like the Seiko Chronos. The 7T32 is a very cool Chrono, I have one myself, slightly different look from yours - mines from 1996. It's on the left in the pic below. (The other is a 6138 Chrono)

Hey CK,

Nice watches! Does the 6138 have a 1/100ths counter as well or just 1/10ths?

Either way, these are great Chronos. I mean, how can you beat a 5 hand counter just for the chronograph function? And it's much easier to read the time with the top and bottom dials having their own dual hands, in my opinion.

Definitely way easier/better to use than my Breguet Type XX which has a 30 minute counter and not a full 60 minute one which would have been immensely simpler to decipher.

Thanks! Again, I'm really happy. No better addition to the collection than a free one!
