New to me 233

Always loved the look of the Luminor and often thought of adding one to the collection. I even knew the exact model I wanted when I first laid eyes on it in the WRUW section a decade ago. Just never got around to it…why? reasons…

Predominantly, It’s humongous… and I certainly am no Dutch Schaefer. Also didn’t help that I simply wasn’t in the same financial situation then as I am now. So I convinced myself that maybe a Panerai just wasn’t for me.

But over the years, every Panerai admired on the daily WRUW chipped away at my reservations. Every Luminor sighted in the wild, knocked off chunks. Until one day I woke up and told myself, it was time to get a Panerai.

One tiny conundrum. The model I was set on getting was no longer in production.

Bummer…

We’ll let’s check out the current models available at the Panerai boutique. Nice selection, but no dice. So I started reading up on other models that weren’t on display, but then my feet got frosty when I started reading all kinds of issues with current model Panerais.

Bummer…

Maybe it’s just not meant to be.

Nope. Just meant I needed to browse the good ole TRF for sale section.

A quick phone call to a trusted seller and voila!

Every time I see a Panerai I think I will like, when I try it on it does not appeal to me as much as my 233.

The last time it was when I was picking up my 233 from service, all restored to new perfection, and I tried on the 1564. I have always preferred a bracelet, and the matt white dial with the grey sandwich is fantastic. But it is so heavy, with that substantial bracelet.

It couldn't beat the 233 in my hands.

Great choice. I went through a few different models before I settled on the dot dial 233. It's been on my daily rotation for the past 4 years.

Wear your in the best of health.

Congrats — Hands down one of the best PAMs out there, especially with the domed crystal — which is a must for me (like on my 127)!

New to me 233

Thanks everyone!

By the way is it normal to spontaneously buy multiple leather straps when one owns a Panerai????

I think the PAM 233 has ruined Panerai for me. lol It might be my one and done model. I'm looking really hard for my next Panerai, but I keep wondering if I would enjoy a different model as much as my PAM 233. I made a mistake and sold my full set PAM 233 Dot Dial. I just recently replaced it with a full set PAM 233 AM/PM. I know most collectors prefer the Dot dial, but I think the AM/PM is more practical and easier to use/read.

I thought the 233 was the one for me, but couldn’t nail down one that I was happy with (price, value, age, etc combo). I ended up with the PAM627 and couldn’t be happier. Loving this slim micro rotor driven 1940’s cased Radiomir GMT

Maybe one day they’ll be a 233 too, But until then this’ll keep me smiling

Since I got mine, it’s been tough to wear anything else, so I agree with this statement. I have the Dot dial and am very happy.
