My first Rolex

Hi all.

Intro: first Swiss watch was an Oris artilier. My 2nd watch was an omega seamaster 2254.50.

And now my first ever Rolex. Expression of interest put down for the explorer 36mm, datejust 36mm and OP 36. Did this on October 1st 2023.

Followed up 2 days ago via email to try my luck for an early Christmas present. Got a call yesterday and they have the DJ 36 126200 black dial, smooth and oyster bracelet. Without hesitation I said YES! Picked it up today. I’m from Sydney, Australia. Either I got very lucky or this piece is easy to get these days. Put my expression of interest at 2 other AD’s but nothing.

Some pics here. Let me know what you think! Is it a sunburst dial? Wrist I think around 6.25”.

Thanks.
K.

Thanks all! I’m already thinking to get a 36mm green OP. Would it be a good 2 watch Rolex collection?

Thanks! Don’t think my DJ will go well with a jubilee bracelet?

The 36mm size is the only way to go for a datejust. Looks great. A 36mm OP would be nice, yes, but it is fairly similar. I like older models. Why not snag a 5 digit reference like a 14270 explorer. That would be a better combo than the OP IMO.

Thanks. Yeah not a bad idea! Only thing is I suppose they are both black faced watches.

Thx all!

Do you think a jubilee bracelet will go with this smooth face?

Already got me thinking if I should get a jubilee bracelet for some versatility. I.e keep both bracelets. Not sure if this is even possible ?

Beautiful piece! Green OP in 36 or 41 would be a great addition!

I’m picking up a new 6 digit explorer 124270 in 10 days time. Will have a 2 watch collection along with my current datejust. I’m done shopping for a while…
