6105-8110 Needs Cleaning
I have a 6105-8110 Seiko that my wife purchased for me in 1977. I wore it when SCUBA diving in the 70's and 80's then only occasionally worn until about 25 years ago. It is all original and was serviced once. It runs but will stop if not wound after a few hours. I think it really need a good service so I haven't worn it as I am afraid that it will harm the mechanism since it might need cleaning. A few years ago I bought a good quality repro strap of the original design. I see that these watches seem to have some collector interest and might consider selling it rather than see it sit in a drawer unused but I would rather have it cleaned and running properly. Is there anyone who specializes in servicing these old Seiko's in Canada.

Any reputable watchmaker should be able to service the movement. I've had many vintage Seikos serviced here (dozens) including a couple of Willards like yours and only had a couple of issues with replacement parts needing to be acquired.

Thank you. One problem I have is no watch repair within 500 miles. I may have to send it out and need to know who I can trust.

You can try these guys as well, they’re in Costa Mesa, CA: https://timezonecostamesa.com/ - ask for Frank. Lovely person and does good work. They’re a Seiko AD as well.

I have sourced two watch repair/ service people who have very good online reviews Bezel House in Calgary and Shane Ede in Toronto. My question now is should I restore with new crystal, hands or leave the watch as is and retain original parts and patina. I am original owner and it was used in diving and my employment for many years. It runs well and keeps excellent time but has not been serviced in about 20 years.
