126610lv story & question

Dear everyone,

For your background, Rolex authorized dealer (AD) in KSA does not in anyway know me and I don’t have a strong record.

Anyhow, Back in 2021, Rolex AD contacted me for a 126610LV sub, which I happily went and bought.

Weird enough, the AD contacted me couple of days ago (Dec 4 2023), saying that my 126610LV order arrived - which I happily went and bought.

What was also weird is that the one I purchased couple of days ago is the mk1.

My questions:
- Considering the high demand for the 126610LV, how on earth the AD sold me a discontinued model? How does the AD still have it in his inventory?
- When did Rolex stop producing the 126610LV mk1?

My observations:
- Considering these guys called me again and offered me an old model. It may confirm that either (1) Rolex production numbers are up; or (2) demand is weakening and hence their inventory is full.

Happy to hear your thoughts!

The one you recently bought 126610LV is the current model so not ‘old’ nor discontinued.

Mk1, Mk2, Mk3, Mk4 or whatever the next batch of bezel inserts will be called is something which only lives on TRF and other forums.
As long as the reference number remains the same Rolex considers them to be equal despite minor variations in hue.
It may very well be that you have the latest instead of the oldest

Rolex never discloses any info, so we never know anything for sure

I'd agree with above.

Rolex sent the AD a watch, you bought it..there is no conspiracy. My guess is the AD either they just got that from Rolex or they had it in the safe a while.. or they had it in the safe a while and maybe got another one and decided to let the one in the safe go. Either way, it's a new watch and if you mention it to the AD (or Rolex) they will have trouble understanding what you are talking about.

Congrats! but why buy 2 of the same watch?

I’m a father of twins. I need another one to be able to pass it to both ;).

Jk.. I purchased on behalf of a friend. I guess he got a good deal. :)

The 126610LV is not a discontinued model. If there are differences in bezel insert colours, as there have been on the BLRO, it's batch variation. The Mk1, 2, 3, etc. thing is something that only exists in peoples' heads.

True. Well, judging by pictures, the new shade of green looks more interesting to me.

So you bought 2 126610LV watches from the same AD and didn’t bother to tell them that you already received this watch in 2021 from them.
Hmmm, very interesting and if I might say NOT COOL.

So the AD forgot they sold you the same watch two years ago?

I’m actually not surprised by this oversight they aren’t exactly the most organized bunch.

Your friend got lucky!

Now send some pics.

Yeah. Especially in KSA. The whole process is sketchy. You literally write your name, contact info, and preferred model in a piece of paper and pray that the sales person does not throw it away.

Many ADs hold stock in the back for big bundle deals. Walk into a random AD, ask for an LV today, you will be turned away. Walk into that same AD, spend $30,000 on merch on the condition they include an LV today, you will most likely get a different answer.
