Got the call last week, 126610LN

Got the call two weeks ago for my 126610LN, my fourth Rolex including one for my wife, so figured I would finally hop on here. Love it already, and really goes along well with my humble Rolex collection thus far.

The big thing for me is the ruggedness, working in what can be a very hands-on at times lab/engineering environment. And then I have two dogs at home, one of which is still very much in the puppy phase, so super active. As much as I love the SkyD and YM40, why expose them to that and have them get all scratched up when they’re so nice? I figure save them for nicer and more casual occasions!

I’m also already in love with the Glidelock. Not a diver, but depending on what I’m doing I might want to wear a watch on the opposite wrist, and either up my wrist a bit more than usual, or very snug for physical activities. The Glidelock is brilliant for that. This is the only metal watch bracelet I have where I can get an absolutely perfect fit. It’s great to finally have a nice watch that I can wear for any purpose, and that will fit exactly the way I want it to.

Had actually been planning on getting an Exp2 black dial, as I already have white and slate/rhodium dial Rolexes, but when my wife and I went to our AD and I tried on the exhibition, neither of us were feeling it. The Sub wasn’t even really on my radar screen at all, as I had tried on the previous version and didn’t care for it. Wasn’t a fan of the maxi style case, but didn’t think the new one was all that different? Well, I tried on the new Sub and immediately loved it. The slightly bigger case size and more classic proportions won me over, and the deep dark piano black dial was gorgeous.

It hasn’t left my wrist since getting it! Late Happy Birthday and early Merry Christmas to me!

Congratulations, looks great.

As an aside, your YM, that exact reference with the blue hand, is the next watch on my "list" at my AD. Hopefully next year, as I had other expenses this year which came first.

Congrats on a wonderful collection!

After wearing the glidelock for a couple of weeks, the others will simply feel a bit ”off” when first wearing them.

unless you put the 11 and 12 subs size by size, most people can't tell the lug and size differences.

I love the 126622! I didn't even realize it existed at all until a swing through the AD last year and was like.... what is that? Had never seen it before. Tried it on and loved it, and our AD had one for me a few months later.

It's been my daily wear watch for the past year or so, just felt bad about the various scratches it's been picking up. Nothing that can't be polished out, but it's a truly awesome watch. Apparently there was some hype about this watch by some youtubers two years ago, and suddenly they were in demand with alleged 1-2 year wait lists. Good relationship with our AD, so only took 1-2 months. A friend has been wanting the same watch, but can't get their foot in the door on the Rolexes yet. I'm sure you'll love it!

Hah! Thank you for noticing!

Phone camera just couldn't figure it out, especially the gloss black of the dial. It was like so had to break out the big camera and the macro lenses.

I can hardly tell either! Really wasn't expecting to like it when I tried it, but ended up loving it.

May I ask how long your wait was for the 126610LN?

A bit complicated and kinda depends on how you want to count!

I put in for the 126610LN, and actually a 126503 (TT/Daytona) also at the same time. I said "whichever you can get" as I knew getting either of these would definitely be a challenge. If you want to count from ask date it was 3.5 months. Buuuuut, my wife hadn't made any jewelry purchases this year yet from our smaller, out-of-state, hometown AD, including for an annual sale they have earlier in the year, so they were dragging their feet on my watch. When my wife was finally making a purchase for herself for the holidays, suddenly they remembered about my watches ("oh, which watches did you want again?") and they had the Sub within a month.

Did not realize that was part of the game, but apparently it's part of the game.

Congrats. I picked up my 126610 LN about a year ago and absolutely love it. For me, the bracelet was a big reason why I chose that model. It was between that and the Pepsi. I did not like the way the band on the Pepsi looked with the case. Because the lugs on the sub are more narrow, and the bracelet a bit wider, the transition from the bracelet into the case, is much more graceful, in my opinion. And then you get the glidelock, which made it an instant winner. Enjoy!

Yes. I know exactly what you're saying on the bracelet. All of the proportions on the Sub are just right.
