White Gold Sub or Day Date

I have decided to add a white gold watch to my collection and make it my daily. I do want that special feel, but still under the radar (yes - I have conflicting feelings about what I want...). Would also like other white gold Rolex models, but not willing to pay the premium. Not sure there is any good answer, but wondering if anyone has thoughts on this choice.

Hmm, tough choice! both are stunning watches, it really depends on your personal style and preference, but i can tell you're in for the white gold and that's cool.

Sub would be my vote also especially if under the radar is important. To everyone else it’s SS but that President bracelet is obviously PM.

Depends on if you may need a somewhat dressy watch at any point. If so, I’d go DD. If you’re casual most of the time, either will work IMO. My choice personally, DD. Both are winners.

Two totally different watches. Get what you really want the most and then get the other one later.

The white good Sub be it OG or the black dial blue bezel version are both lovely looking watches …

Would you rather daily a Sub, or a DD? Simple as that.

Thanks for feedback. As I read the responses I start to realize that I see DD as a yellow gold watch - I actually really like that watch, but would be out of place most of the time for me, and I want this watch to be more of a daily. Now that the platinum DD has a fluted bezel the white gold seems a little less special. On the other hand - really like DD…. Someday maybe both.

The WG DD36s seem to be going for close to MSRP, at least on C24. The blue ombre with diamonds is nice & there are also "plainer" dial choices like silver/sticks or white/Romans. Very much so an under the radar heavy hitter.

https://www.rolex.com/en-us/watches/configure

Here's one, silver/Romans/fluted in Toronto for CAD 32.5 https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/rolex...id30089366.htm

I vote for the WG Sub as daily. Or the GMT Meteorite but this was not given as a contender.

The DD should be platinum or yellow gold only. I wouldn’t get white gold.

If you want white gold get a sub or gmt.

Rolex people are pretentious and ostentatious at the same time.
We wear precious metal pieces but want so-called under the radar feeling.
We are secretly disgruntled when people mistaken a platinum with stainless steel and dismiss that disgruntlement feeling as "those who know, know".

So to conclude: get both!

I see you lean more towards the sub likely secondary to your lifestyle. I only could choose one it would be the WG sub. More of an all around watch and is not the bling of a DD.

I agree and suggest that if you want to go with something a little more practical, go with the Sub.

Day Date - just a more special watch IMO

I've seen the blue bezel wg Sub and for me it just doesn't pop for some reason. Maybe I'm partial to stainless Subs, not sure.

Voting for the Submariner on this one. Really cool in WG and IMO a bit more under the radar than the DD
