Cancelled. Removed name from ‘list”
Had my name down for a 126500LN Daytona. A visit to my AD convinced me to take my name off their list. My AD is great and have looked after me in the past so no issues with them at all. I’m at a certain age and there seemed a reasonable chance that I may never see it. Life’s too short as they say so will look elsewhere. Theres plenty out there to scratch the itch.

Sorry to hear that it didn't work out for you. Kind of been there. And life is too short.
I really like the Zenith Chrono Sport. Love those sub dial colors! It's the only over 40mm watch I'd even consider. But I understand that it's not the Daytona you wanted. Good luck! |

Dealing with only one AD is never a good idea. Perhaps you didn't need it anyway. Not my favorite Rolex!

Good for you but don’t think that is remotely close to the norm

Some people are just completely turned off by the watch given the games played to get one. I would just go grey. Life is too short.

I can understand the peace of mind angle but one could simply remain indifferent to the expectation without informing the AD. Desires of the heart migrate after all.

Did the AD cry or beg when you gave them the news?

The grey Daytona, while being a terrible value, is a steal compared to what an AD will charge you.

One must have the attitude, if a Daytona shows up from an AD, great, if it doesn't so what. Just buying Rolex watches from the store really is not much help. You need to be a good customer who buys regularly, i.e., for special occasions, other merch from the store. Since it seems jewelry stores have a monopoly on the sale of new Rolex watches, those folks who love jewelry for themselves and others have a clear upper edge for allocations.

I have the 321 and can attest that is another level! I also gave up on the 12 series daytona...but not because of the wait (I want a TT not a SS). I took my name off the list once I had a chance to try on the new 12 series and I did not like it. I prefer the 11 series...so I am sitting back and waiting as 11 series TT prices are creeping down slowly...

Look at the movement. It’s a famous Lemania based caliber used in haute horological pieces from Breguet, Patek, and others. It’s also the actual movement worn on the moon.

What is the harm in staying on a list? Who knows, they may get one in tomorrow. |
