Trade Pepsi and Steel Daytona for a 126519 (“Ghost”)?

Hi all,

Need a reality check if this would be reasonable:

Would you trade a current model Pepsi plus a 116520 Daytona for a white gold Oysterflex Daytona 126519?

Though I like the Pepsi, I also have a Batman which I will never sell (sentimental value). The Daytona, I like but don’t wear much.

Thank you!

Do it.

Only reservation would be if your Pepsi is your only Jubliee.

Myself not a fan of the modern day Daytona but cannot see the point in trading the SS Daytona plus GMT for just a bit of gold in the Daytona case on a rubber strap so would not even think about trading.

Btw, Pepsi is on Oyster. Alternative would be 116520 plus cash for the 126519. Also, I am talking about getting the 126519 from AD, so may take a while. And not a fan of the heft of a PM watch with full bracelet, so I’m focused on OF.

For a full gold Daytona, yes. For OF, no.

No way. Maybe if the PM Daytona was on a full bracelet. I wouldn’t do anything if weight is an issue.

The weight of the full PM watch is intoxicating in all the best ways. Once you try it.....it's addicting.

It’s a tough one. I would try and keep the BLRO and move the 116520 on, if the BLNR is on a jubilee it would make a great trio!

You are unlikely to ever get another 116520 or BLRO from an AD again. You are way more likely to have access to the 126519 going forward. Don't make the trade.

If you don't wear the Daytona currently, what is the rationale for trading for another version of the Daytona?

Yea, I’m leaning towards moving the 116520, keeping the Pepsi and sourcing a Jubilee for it. Batman is on Oyster and the “OG” model from shortly after it was first released. Has a ton of sentimental value/memories so that won’t go anywhere.

Only if you'd never geting another blro or adding a meterite blro. As stated above 126519 is somewhat obtainable. If I were you I'd sell that116520 use the funds towards the ghost

Personally, I would rather have the Pepsi & steel Daytona, but given your BLNR and you not wearing the steel Daytona, it kinda makes sense for you.

I would not trade my Pepsi for anything...it is a watch I know I would immediately regret selling or trading:)

Never. I like both the BLRO and SS Daytona better than the OF Daytona.

I’d wait for AD, sounds like have a history with them and it’s not the hardest watch to get.

No way. PM Daytonas were amongst the last of Rolex models to go into full hype mode over the last few years, they’ll be one of the first to become easy to get with a reasonable wait.
I’m sure your AD would love to sell you a $30K watch, ask for it.

I wouldn't trade a GMT and a Daytona for another Daytona just because it is PM, unless of course, I wanted a PM Daytona that I would wear, and this was the logical course of action.
