Tudor/ETA movement after 12 years with no service.
Just checked today. Not bad . . . worth a pic anyway

Bbbbbbbbbbbut, I thought in-house is always better!
Great quality and lots of charm with the “smile” on the dial. Good call holding on to this one. |

Thanks! I almost let it go soon after I bought it from the original owner in 2015 (full set w/2012 card), but then took it on a Mediterranean cruise and kind of bonded with it onboard and on shore

In reality, the ETA 2824-2/Sellita SW200-1 are the Chevy 350 of watch movements. Accurate, robust, and they just go and go and go. Also, any decent watchmaker can service them, so you're unlikely to be at the mercy of any individual brand. If I had life to do over, and could avoid getting obsessed with watches, I'd buy a Doxa Sub with money from my first job and wear it for 50 years. |

I own that same watch. Bought it right after Tudor released in house movement / Shield dial version. Local AD had both ETA version and in house side by side and I decided I much preferred the Rose dial / ETA version based on dial aesthetics and case thickness. Plus, ETA reliability and ease of service was a given! I often wear it on a Black Maratac NATO, which really makes it pop!

Proves a good movement is a good movement. Well done, Adam!

My wife hasn't taken off her BB 32 going on four years. She is either in gym or pool every day. Hot tub, sauna, and cold plunge. It's a great watch that just keeps on going.

My 2824 has not been serviced in 17 years I have owned it. Still running +4.

Heritage Ranger bought in 2014 is looking pretty good, too.

I wanted the ETA Black Bay with the Blue Bezel back in the day but money was tight after a divorce. I’d previously managed to pick up the last ETA driven Pelagos at a nice discount from the AD after the in-house movements came out before my personal SHTF. A couple of years ago that same AD had a pre-owned ETA Black Bay Blue bezel that I’d denied myself previously. So now I have a pair of ETA Tudors and unhappy times are deep in the rear-view.

Not surprised Adam. I do not have a timegrapher, however, both Tudor ETA’s (BBR & BBB) purchased in 2015 keep excellent time. The Rose dials are a nice touch and they both get plenty of wrist time. In fact, I wear a Tudor much more often than any of my Rolex.

Same here. Been offloading some of my Rolexes lately as they don't really get any wrist time.

Great watch, I had one but traded it for a ceramic submariner, regretted it almost instantly as I ended flipping the sub after a few months. I have a Roamer SeaRock with a 2824 that I bought from a department store jewellery shop about 14 years ago. I wear it almost every weekend as a beater and it hasn’t missed a beat. Very good movement.

I have a Tag Heuer Heritage Chrono, the last year that they used the ETA 7750 Valjoux movement. The watch is about 10 years old, never serviced, and runs beautifully.
