Sand Gold is amazing

I got to try several of the 2024 novelties this week. I had high hopes for sand gold from the press pics, and I wasn’t disappointed.

I never thought I could pull off a full gold watch, as both pink gold and yellow gold just look like total overkill on me. I declined a 222 for that reason.

But sand gold is just mellow enough and from some angles even looks like steel, so I’m hoping for a sand gold perpetual calendar for next year as my potential exit watch.

The open-worked tourbillon is not surprisingly a total stunner as well. I really didn’t want to take it off my wrist.

41 QP with new movement in Sand Gold is going to be nuts. The question is...what dial will they choose? Hopefully blue.

Very nice, I think they nailed the sand gold and that openworked tourb looks ridiculous!

Sand gold is stealthy and I really like it this way.

my main issue with this piece is it lacks any contrast. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful watch, but as a watch collector of 25 years I find that I tend to get bored with monochromatic color schemes.

A bit too washed out for me. Much prefer SS or RG. I appreciate what they are doing on the material sciences front, just not for me.

You won’t like the new WG jumbo either then.

How about this for contrast? At the event we nicknamed it “the flamingo”

I really like AP and PP's RG as it is a mix of the YG and RG of Rolex and others, this Sand gold seems a bit too watered down for me, not sure it will have that Xtra factor over SS given its price, but want to see it.

I agree with this one. I just don't really like the printing of AP across the crystal on the Jumbo.

Still more contrast than the steel version, but yeah, that's one of many reasons the 15407ST is so great.

That stainless one and the black ceramic are both amazing. If AP really cuts it out of the lineup and swaps it with the newer skeleton...it will be disappointing as the actual architecture of the movement on 15407ST is what makes it so beautiful IMO!

100% agreed. Pretty much confirmed that it is going to be discontinued. Shame since it’s the most aesthetic OW. Don’t know how the successor will top it.
