Can You Board A Flight With A Modern AP Box
Hi,
Random question… I picked up a watch yesterday and while I’ll have the watch on my wrist, I’m concerned if a modern AP box will be allowed through airport security? Thanks in advance for your help. |

Why would this be a problem? Carry several different watch brand boxes all over.
Never an issue. Are you worried about triggering a tax event? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Is this box made of drugs or explosives? Is it a weapon of some sort? Why would security give a damn that you have a watch box? On the other hand, customs would be a different story.

I don't understand the logic behind this question.

Great, thank you for your help, all was good.
However, I find it strange that some people struggle to comprehend the basic question that I asked… or worse… why one would bother to use their time to express their negative confusion :-) Some airports can be temperamental with various goods going through security as ‘carry on’, and instead request them to be checked in… simple question… simple answer… no more to it. Thank you again to those that were helpful. |

It wasn't a bad question and I understand your purpose after you explained it. But as with some others, I assumed this was tax related.

It's a box with nothing dangerous inside, not sure why you would think it wouldn't be allowed in your carry on luggage? Were you refused something similar in the past?

More likely to get stung for paying the tax if you have the box with you but that is about it.

The question arising from your "simple question" is whether you are importing the box and worn watch from one country into another and has the appropriate import duties been paid.

It’s not a weird question since it probably has to do with Customs and taxes and all that. You can definitely feel fine to fly on a plane with a box is the simple answer.

The OP has come back and said it is nothing to do with tax, it's literally what can be carried on as opposed to checked in.
With that in mind it is a silly question as technically it has nothing to do with a watch forum, it's better saved for a travel forum, or better still just check the airline's carry on rules. |
