I finally understand the jubilee

In regards to the post I made a couple days back…..I picked it up yesterday and boy what a watch this is. This was my first time even seeing a Pepsi in person (AD never had one on exhibition) and pics truly don’t do it justice. I had been an oysterhead since I started collecting Rolex several years ago. Although the oyster will always be my first love, the wearing experience with jubliee is unparalleled in terms of weight and comfort. Of all the Rolex I’ve had so far this one really does have the most character. Even compared to a Batman this reference is just different. I’ll never understand the hype behind a 2x secondary price but at retail this thing is an absolute banger

Congratulations.

The wearing comfort of the Oyster bracelet was a big attraction and contributed significantly to my Rolex illness. It took me a long time to get to a Jubilee and when I finally did my reaction was the same. I subsequently had two of my Oyster clad watches converted to Jubilee, including my BLRO.

With its ceramic bezel insert and Jubilee bracelet it's a superb modern day homage to the original 6542.

I can understand it but I agree. The 126710BLRO is not worth worth 2xMSRP (ish) - to me. I wanted one from the day it was launched and scored 4.5 years later. It never occured to me to go to the secondary market. In some circumstances I don't mind paying a bit over, but the premium for this watch is well beyond my comfort range, not that it's any of my business how other people spend their money.

I’m with you there. I can see the value in paying over retail with vintage or discontinued references, but if it’s still in production I just can’t bring myself to pay more. I’m a patient guy. I’ll just wait my turn for the AD genie to drop one in my lap. This is the closest I’ll probably ever get to a 6542. Which besides the submariner is IMO the greatest wrist watches ever made. Sorry Daytona but I said it

Congratulations!!

The jubilee is my favorite now for GMT or DJ
For Sub type watch, it's still the oyster.

I’m the opposite. Bought the new Pepsi on Jubilee. Have the BLNR on Oyster and prefer both look and feel of it.
Now, my wife wears the Jubilee and loves it.
Easy remedy.

The Jubilee will also give you the most blingy light show with the least amount of maintenance or scratches to live with. It would hide marks even better than a full brushed bracelet if it wasn’t for the pcl clasp. A small price for such a flashy piece.

I prefer the oyster and have that on my Pepsi but I want to add a jubilee for some variety. I’ve been on the hunt but the prices for the 69200 bracelet are nuts.

I prefer jubilee on the GMT and brushed oyster on a Submariner.

I think the Pepsi looks particularly good on the Jubilee. I’ve been thinking of picking up a Jubilee for my Wimbledon, but since it’s 2 tone, probably cost prohibitive….

Darn! I guess I’ll keep it on the Oyster:

It is sportier, which is more me. I’ve only seen it in rose gold on Jubilee.
It was nice, but the rose gold isn’t as striking, IMO.

If only a super jubliee fit on that reference you could save like 4 grand. My biggest beef with Rolex new models is the bracelets aren’t as interchangeable as they used to be.
