Am I Crazy?
Been thinking of trading my SD43 for an SD4K. Some times I feel like it’s just slightly too big and has too much presence.
Would probably lose ~$1k on the deal. Don’t know if it’s just my mind playing tricks on me!? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I don’t think you are crazy. I think either way it’s a really cool watch! SD43 can be added back if you don’t like it.

I don’t think the look will change much as far as on the wrist presence. That’s not to say you shouldn’t go for it if it’s a better wearing watch. The SD4K is also a very limited run which has its own appeal.

I would strongly encourage you to try on an SD4K, if possible, before you make that trade. They tend to wear a bit odd.

That SD43 looks great on your wrist and I love the splash of red on the dial. With that said, I own and prefer the SD4K with its classic proportions, raised crystal, and lack of cyclops. Fabulous reference with only a few years of production.

Not for me, the red writing, the cyclops and the size

Why not buy SD4k that way you have some time with both in your collection? Easier to make the call when alternating them for daily wear. Maybe even keep both.

Doesn't look big on your wrist, to me at least. The SD4K is 15mm thick for a 40mm width. Try before you buy.

This looks perfect on your wrist. I do like the SD4K better but only cause I can’t pull off 43mm

You have a big wrist, the SD4K will look small to you. The best advice was to get both.

Wrist presence is fine. No overhang of lugs.

Looks good to me but I’m always for sizing down. I think watches are simply too big (says the guy that has/had over a dozen 47mm Panerai). I’m in the process of selling and sizing down also.

I have the TT and it feels a bit bulky on me now, esp lately as I've bought two smaller GMTs and then wearing them for a few days straight and then going to that is quite the change. I find I can move thru different brands for different sizes, but in the same brand I kind of like them to all wear similarly.

You're not crazy at all.
Putting the price/deal/figures aside, IMO the SD4K is a nicer watch than the SD43. It is more interesting with its matt looking dial and the SD43 has an anemic dial with lots of empty area's.
And even on a big wrist SD4K looks great. Congrats, great choice. |

It’s a big watch, but fits perfectly on your wrist. I would never give mine up for SD4K. I feel SD4K is too thick for 40mm watch.

Honestly that size looks perfect on your wrist. You may find that the SD4K is smaller than you like.
