Submariner Bracelet Marks

I bought my first Rolex Submariner last fall and I’ve always noticed something about the bracelet link that connects to the lugs. On both ends of the bracelet that connects to the lugs, there is a faint “wear” line near where the next link connects. It is almost identical on both ends of the bracelet so it’s very odd. I’ve included pictures below for reference. Has anyone else noticed this on Oyster bracelet models? My Submariner is a 124060 reference and I purchased it new. I’ve owned a couple of SS Tudor Black Bay’s over the years and I’ve noticed that they have had the same “wear” lines in the same location, even when I bought them new. Is it something in the manufacturing process? Any opinions or information is welcomed!

Perfectly (and annoyingly) normal. It’s from handling, when the link touches the SEL.

Normal. Keep it clean and it reduces that kind of wear considerably.

My first thought was "OMG, look at how nice that brushing looks!" Don't worry, soon it will look like this. 5 years of daily wear and all these little marks are still basically invisible from any normal viewing distance. I don't mind the scratches but do miss that beautiful factory brushing.

Wear the watch and enjoy it. Over time there will be so many more signs of careworn character that you won’t notice this.

That watch must be put away in a safe. Immediately. Do not wear again. It’s unsafe. Buy a moonswatch.

I agree! Keeping it clean will be the best way to preserve it whether you wear it or not.

All normal to anything made from metal that has flexible links,if you do not want things like this to happen just keep your watch in its box.

Your bracelet is still in what I'd consider "like new" condition. It will get a lot "worse" if you are going to wear it regularly. It's just normal wear and tear, and a lot of people, including me, actually think it looks better with some wears on it.

Do you have a stainless steel fridge, range, dishwasher in your kitchen? Take a close look at the scratches on them... that's the kind of wear your watch is going to have.
