Watches and wonders predictions

Sooooo thoughts on the Instagram teaser by Panerai. What does everyone think this will be. I’m super excited at a new submersible, but hopefully will be a model with modern appeal (selfishly) as opposed to a niche/collab/limited edition.

Same as the current ones. The blue has a rubber strap the other one a leather strap .

Not sure if they still follow this every year a different model range thing.

I am aware of hand wound 10 day luminors but I haven’t seen them and I am not aware of the specs.

Yes I thought it was the 75th anniversary of the Luminor, I was hoping for something a bit more special. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

According to George at Oliver Smith - it should be the year of the submersible.

Apparently it was, lots of action amongst the subs, sadly not much in regular Luminors.

Does anyone else not care at all about this Luna Rossa team?

Like to revolve the whole novelties around this team? I don't want it on my dial, I've never thought about them.

Also- has anyone ever needed a GMT on a submersible?! Like a GMT on a dive watch is such an oxymoron.

I don't know- I just feel like Panerai are just releasing the same old year in, year out. Do something new!

I like the GMT diver combination. I think about vacations going somewhere near the water in a different timezone.

I am still hoping for a Blancpain Bathyscaphe grey ceramic that would be my dream vacation watch.

Same goes for all manufacturers, I havenīt seen anything interesting so far.

Some of the more interesting releases will be introduced throughout the year. They have shown many more watches on the "vip" event in January.

I am disappointed and surprised. Just canīt understand why Luna Rossa has such a high status at Panerai.

Don’t get me wrong I love Panerai, but I haven’t really been a fan after my 1320. Pretty much every single watch I wanted to buy either said e steel, Luna Rossi or navy seal on the dial. Just don’t understand the direction they are leaning in.

Just chiming in. I visited my AD (where I got my sub and they are also Pam AD) and it was shocking to see new releases marked up at $12K+ with 10% discount. The same pieces are available already at grey market sellers for 70% less so who in their mind would spend retail while knowing there's ZERO resale value with Panerai as a brand.

My sub from last year has been abused to hell and some of the private AD's on this forum are willing to give me $12k+ for a $10k watch. Any Panerai at retail is like buying a brand new car..the moment ya drove off the dealer lot, the value drops by 30%.

That being said, the pieces I tried on my wrist really makes me want to get Panerai. When it comes to wrist presense and uniequeness, ya can't beat a Pam. Even Omega nor Tudor doenst comes close to it.

I'll be getting a Pam this year but most likely from the grey market sellers (at a pre-owned price).

If anything, I know see Panerai same as Hublot ...it's only the enthusiast that will own the brand..not the random guy.
